Horta do Muro

We booked (via ***********) to stay at Horta do Muro on 19th Sept 2022. Unusually, the owner demands prepayment by direct bank transfer to her account. We did this, but she then cancelled and - extraordinarily - tried to keep the money ! Multiple emails and phone messages to her were ignored, and in the end it took a formal complaint via ***********, with proof of payment from the bank, to get refunded. This little adventure took 2 months and around 10 hours work. There was no apology from the owner. The site itself looks lovely (we showed up on bicycles, not realising she had cancelled, and were stuck with no bed for the night!) However, the risks are considerable - and there are other places !
