Langley Castle Hotel

Awesome Hotel , picturesq and well maintained throughout. We booked a superior room in the castle and absolutely loved the decor and cosy bed. Breakfast was included and the food was great quality and staff were lovely and catered to my wife's dietary requirements. There was only one problem, the shower outlet pipe was blocked and the tray would fill up meaning you would have to stop the shower occasionally to let it drain . I reported it but unfortunately the next day it was not resolved. I'm still giving five stars as it could have been an oversight and everything else outweighed the minor problem . Overall excellent and we look forward to coming back .

My husband & I stayed here for our anniversary. We booked the Cadwallader room which was perfectly charming. A castle room with a view. The room was nice & warm with tea & coffee facilities. We didn’t get a good nights sleep due to wilder beast snoring coming from the adjoining room. Not the fault of the hotel of course! The food in the restaurant for dinner was delicious with a lot of attention to detail. Breakfast the next morning was tasty & freshly prepared using quality produce. We did the castle tour before check out which was informative & a nice experience to round off the stay.

We had a delightful overnight stay here. We were in room 27 which was a 5 minute walk from the castle. The room was large and comfortable and we were able to sit out on the balcony to watch the sun go down. Our dinner was excellent, beautifully cooked food, well presented. The drawing room where our orders were taken and the dining room itself were impressive. We were well looked after by all the staff particularly Adam. The only issue we had was the over bath shower which can be challenging for oldies like us. The bathroom was large so a separate shower would be possible. Breakfast was good too.

Love, love, love this castle experience! It exceeded our expectations from the moment we walked through the front door. From the incredibly helpful and accommodating staff, to the phenomenally appointed rooms to the fabulous meals, it was an incredible experience. Drinks in the drawing room were casual, and it was a very friendly atmosphere that invited conversation with other guests. We have stayed in other hotel castles before, but this surpassed the others by far. Highly recommend! We stayed in the Greenwich Room.

Hotel grounds are beautiful and staff were friendly and professional. The food was very good and we really enjoyed the evening meal and the tasty breakfast. We stayed in a stables room. £340 had been paid on booking months in advance for 1 night bed breakfast and evening meal we still paid £77 on checkout for wine (understandable), extra for a ribeye steak, vegetables and potatoes (which were not included) and water. We were astounded that potatoes and vegetables did not come as part of a balanced meal! Room was tired with cracked tiles in bathroom, no caps on bath taps, dirty shower screen trim and around glued towel rail. The tv didn’t work, reception did send a colleague out to reset it, however, on returning to the room later that evening and switching tv on, reception was lost again. Was definitely not value for money.

What a fabulous location and building. Stayed for 2 nights in a Castle View Room, which was spotless and spacious, decorated in keeping with the castle. Food and service excellent. The castle does have the wow factor with the decor. The free daily tour of the castle at 10.15am explaining its history was a nice touch and we would thoroughly recommend it. The cream tea scones were the best we’ve ever had.

We booked here at the last minute for a night on our way back from touring in Scotland and were not disappointed. We were in a very nice single level room over in the “stables” and it was nice to have the spacious modern feel of the room whilst still being able to enjoy the grand “castle feel” of the sitting rooms and dining areas over in the castle itself. Lovely grounds, beautifully maintained but spoilt by the presence of a ridiculous big teepee (yep a tent!) positioned on the lawns opposite the castle entrance - a mystifying and tasteless management (US owner?) decision indeed.

An impressive building, food and service excellent, room comfortable although disappointed we weren’t in the main building We didn’t have a good view of the grounds as we were in an upstairs room in the cottage with just velux windows, these windows needed a good clean as the paintwork was quite dirty

We came to Langley Castle Hotel for a special birthday night away. The hotel is beautifully restored in a beautiful country location, but unfortunately, it is exhausted. We arrived earlier than the stated check-in time, and luckily, the rooms were ready. The receptionist told us that our rooms were challenging to find because there were no visible signs, and no one bothered to come to show us. At the entrance to The Derwentwater room, the best room in the hotel, according to the reception staff, the first impression was that the light switch was broken. The bathroom was very shabby and not fit for a 4-star luxurious hotel. The De Lucy Room was dusty, and the bed mattress was uncomfortable. After checking in, we decided to drink in the drawing room. No one came to ask us what we wanted, so we had to go to the bar and ask for drinks and menus again and again.The feel was like the staff didn't care much Again, the service at dinner was very questionable and did not correspond to the prices of the "fine dining" experience. The food was tasty, but the portions were tiny, more like tasting menu portions. Regrettably, our stay at Langley Castle Hotel was a significant disappointment. Priced at £350 a night for bed and breakfast, we had expected a far more satisfying experience. Aww, and the bears, which are £25 each, I think they should be included in the price and given as a gift, especially if a child is staying.
