Macdonald Linden Hall Golf and Country Club

A bit disappointing, room next door to the loft and you could hear everyone coming and going. Breakfast was tasty but did not contain all items advertised.

I recently stayed for a two night break, for my birthday. A treat from my daughter. Unfortunately the room allocated was in need of a deep clean. The carpet was stained. I've never seen so many cobwebs. The bathroom was a disgrace. Room 118 had a noise problem. As this was a gift I was reluctant to complain but the noise was so bad we had to phone reception at 3am to complain. Only to be told that this was a know problem. Another room was offered and we moved rooms at 3 on the morning. In the morning we managed to get the General manager to see the room and the substandard conditions. Which he agreed with all our complaints. Remember this is a 4star hotel. Another was offered for the second night stay which was acceptable. The only redeeming features of this hotel are the staff. They were very helpful, friendly and attentive. The food was excellent and the quality first class. This Country House is in need of major refurbishment. My break away was wasted for the lack of sleep and the disappointment of having to complain. I'm still waiting a resolution from the hotel.

My husband and I had a lovely morning in the spa followed by a very relaxing back shoulder and neck massage and a very satisfying two course meal. The girls in the spa were extremely polite and helpful and couldn't do enough for you. Especially Hollie she went above and beyond to make our morning relaxing and was very informative. We will deffinitly be back again. Thanks for our relaxing morning

Very comfy bed food terrble food prices £10.50 for one scotch egg £19 for butter chicken but it was spicy £41:50 for steak with a. Sauce and onion rings Brekfast some parts undercooked and some Over same price for full English as porridge and having to choose between nuts honey or fruit absolutely not worth it food prices and standard spoilt this spa break Also not enough seating area in pool Towels everywhere

We celebrated our golden wedding anniversary with family and friends at Linden Hall in September. All our guests enjoyed the weekend. We had private dining on the Saturday night and were very well looked after by Anthony and team. The food was very nice.

we have just returned from a truly wonderful family wedding occasion at Linden Hall. It was superb in every respect. They offer an all in package with celebration room, drinks and canapes, wedding breakfast, evening disco with DJ, hot/cold evening buffet and the services of coordinator and master of ceremonies. everything was handled brilliantly, ran smoothly and met the wishes of the bridal party. Many thanks to Pav and her team for coordination and to Anthony our MC on the day for the smooth running of the various stages. Also to Danielle and the team on reception for handling many queries. Our guests, many of whom stayed at the hotel, were unanimous in their praise for the meal, ceremony and facilities of Linden Hall. In particular we were impressed by the extensive grounds to walk in and the spa facilities. The weather was kind and it was a fabulous day at this highly recommended venue.

We have just returned from a 3 day golf break. We booked our stay many months ago however on arrival myself and my daughter was given a room with a double 4 poster bed to share but told we would then have to move for our 2 remaining nights as would 5 other pairs in our group this meant we couple not unpack and settle into our long weekend. The hotel and rooms and the golf course all have one thing in common and that is they need some money spent on them and updating. 1 The room furniture & carpets had various stains on them, the bathroom had cracked tiles , grout missing and mouldy. 2. The food, this was ok we had a few issues with frozen bread rolls and cold soup but the biggest thing for me was you had to walk outside to the eatery which is not great when it is pouring with rain however breakfast (which was good) is in the hotel. 3. The golf, the course is quite good and varied however it just needs some attention a number of bunkers had more grass growing in them than sand and the amount of areas of deep rough was excessive leading to lots of lost balls and 5 hour plus rounds. I think with some updating this would have been a much better experience.

Room 241, good value, huge comfortable bed, spacious and super view. Enjoyed all aspects of staying in this room, slept well and relaxed. Bath robes, Elemis toiletries, table with four comfortable chairs, telly, Earl Grey tea etc. Bathroom was fine, enjoyed a bath in the evening, shower temperature variable next morning. The hotel grounds are really lovely and the sweeping staircase and large rooms make for a luxurious environment. Spa was adequate (super toiletries) but I was uncomfortable swimming up and down with the people on their loungers using mobile phones despite signage saying not to. Perhaps the receptionist could remind spa users not to use their phones.

Do not stay at this Hotel! The grounds were fine if you are playing golf but the hotel is of a very poor standard. The food being one of the worst and most expensive I have used. Prices at the bar you expect more expensive but these were exorbitant. Even for soft drinks. No wonder pubs/bars are closing at one per day. We paid £19 for fish & Chips which were obliviously frozen and just put in the oven to cook. I was also told the chef (ha-ha) was Italian so I though I would go for the pasta. Absolutely tasteless, and of course at £14 just about robbery.
