Gardenia Country Inn

Gardenia country inn is an easy going, comfortable hotel with pleasant rooms in the local wooden construction style. The hotel has wonderful gardens that are obviously the result of decades of labor of love by the owners. You can wander among extraordinary floral collections, ponds and streams, and many fine specimen plants. This is a world class garden, equal to some of the best elsewhere in the world. I thought the food was very tasty and I especially recommend the fruit smoothies -- they are absolutely, unreservedly the best I have ever had anywhere! This was a lovely stay.

We had a group of 24 going to Siladen Island. Seven folks stopped at the Gardenia Country Inn prior to Siladen for a few days to adjust to time zones, and 11 folks (2 repeats) stayed there for two nights after Siladen to relax, offgas, and see the sights. WE picked Siladen because two of our group had been there a few years a go and raved about it. We enjoyed our stays very much. Working with guest manager Leslie was fabulous; he was easy to communicate with on WhatsApp, answered all of our questions fully, and offered good advice. He made our travel arrangements to and from the airport and Sialaden, in cooperation with the Siladen folks. All very easy and smooth. Food was very good, but a bit limited in choices. For just a couple of days, no problem, but over, say, a week it would have been repetitious. The only alcoholic drinks were beer...no wine or hard liquor. Accommodations were very comfortable, but there was no air conditioning. We asked for a fan for the room, and Leslie went into town and bought one for us. Great service! The air conditioning was not needed my most in our group, but my wife and I are wusses. The grounds and gardens of the the Inn and the views are superlative. It is, indeed, a very relaxing place. Definitely recommended.

Een prachtig gelegen hotel in schitterende tuin. Met een heel mooi uitzicht. De kamer is ruim, met apart zitgedeelte. Het sanitair is sterk verouderd en dringend aan vervanging toe. Het interieur is ook wat oubollig maar alla. Verlichting kan beter. Geen tv, zeer matig werkende wifi. Het ontbijt is redelijk evenals het avondeten. Het komt ‘elders’ op het terrein vandaan en is niet echt warm meer als het wordt uitgeserveerd. Het verse mangosap is heerlijk! De kamers zijn zeer gehorig. Er is ook veel geluidsoverlast van de nabijgelegen horeca (wij waren er in het weekend). Het personeel is vriendelijk en behulpzaam.
