Red Roof Inn North Little Rock

Not a good place to stay.

We had roaches as soon as we got there. No coffee maker, the television want even hooked up. I did it but we still had to get them to fix it. Not a very clean place. No breakfast was set it. We felt very unsafe there because it was dark and the sign wasn't even lit.

The outside of this place looks very creepy on a dead end road, like a horror movie. The hallways reeked with funky cigarette smoke. Some dummy decided to stand outside by our ac and smoke, waking us up because of their cigarette smoke coming into our room. The maids were noisy and cackling like witches in the hallways, disturbing everyone. I felt it was deliberate. No more for me.

Although our room was clean, this hotel provided only the barest of essentials. There were two guests in our room, and yet we were only provided with 2 bath towels and ONE hand towel. No wash cloths. We didn’t discover this until showering in the a.m. We had a king size bed with only two small pillows. When we asked for extra pillows, we were told there were no extras available. Our door fit badly, and there was a gap all around it, allowing light to enter. Our bedspread had stains and burn holes, but the sheets appeared clean. In the morning, there was no breakfast on premises although there was a room designated for it. There was no coffee pot in our room like at other Red Roofs, and the lobby coffee pot was empty. The desk clerk did make a fresh pot. The desk staff was friendly but dressed in very casual clothing. Upon check in, there was a man watching tv in the lobby dressed in shorts/t shirt with his dog. I thought he was a guest, but upon ringing the bell on the desk, I learned he was the desk clerk. The windows in the lobby eating area were filthy, and the pool you could see from there looked very uninviting although it was not yet opened for the season. We would not stay here again. There were about 6 other hotels in the same area and would have been a better choice for a stopover.

The room was old but was clean. Front desk clerk was very helpful and friendly. There were some moldy spots on the bathroom ceiling. The smoke detector was stored inside a drawer in the dresser and I pulled the bed away from the wall because the electric socket was not installed in a juntion box; it was just hanging inside the wall with the overbed light plugged into it. Storm window was smashed out. Bugs in the bathroom. Non guests were using the laundry facilities. I travel with a dog, so I was not too worried, but if I were alone, I'd go elsewhere.

Horrible run down hotel. First room they put me in had no AC, stained sheets with cigaret burn holes, and the smoke sector removed. Second room was only slightly better, no functional outlets, no AC, no alarm clock, TV didn't work. At least the sheets were marginally better, Whole place smells like smoke. Avoid at all costs.
