Club Mahindra Assonora

We stayed at Club Mahindra Assonora in July 2025 and had a wonderfully relaxing time. Surrounded by lush greenery and the soothing sound of monsoon rain, the resort offers a peaceful escape from the usual Goa scene. Our room (Room No. 2007) was clean, spacious, and cozy—perfect for the rainy weather. A heartfelt thank you to Jun Gogoi from housekeeping, whose exceptional service made a lasting impression. He was not only prompt and efficient but also incredibly warm and courteous. Jun took the time to check in on us daily, ensured everything was spotless, and always had a smile on his face. Staff like him truly elevate the entire experience. Even on rainy days, there were plenty of indoor activities to enjoy, from games to cultural sessions. The in-house restaurant served a great mix of local and Indian dishes—the Goan fish curry stood out, and breakfast offered a generous spread of fresh fruit, baked goods, and more. The overall atmosphere is calm and family-friendly, but it also works well for couples looking to unwind. We loved waking up to misty mornings and the soft rustle of palm leaves in the rain. Highly recommend this resort if you're looking for a serene Goan getaway, especially during the off-season. We left refreshed and would definitely return!

The USP of Club Mahindra's Assonora resort is its vast green area, probably the largest green area to be found in any Club Mahindra Resort. Its complete with a organic herbal garden, butterfly garden, vegetable patches and numerous fruit and beautiful flowering trees. The cherry on the pie is the large diversity of birds that inhabit this locale. The international birding site - ebird has reported 103 bird species here. There is a machan for nature and bird lovers overlooking a narrow water stream flowing behind this green area. We observed over 40 bird species here and it was an amazing treat for us as bird watchers. Most of the birds observed were arboreal that is those who mostly inhabit trees and bushes. Some of the beautiful and unique species that we spotted here was the Malabar Grey Hornbill, the Paradise Flycatcher, Crimson Sunbird, Grey Headed Bulbul, Yellow bellied prinia, Lesser Green leafbird, European bee eater, Plain flower pecker, Red Spurfowl, Puff throated Babbler, Bull headed shrike, Chestnut tailed starling, Orange headed thrush, Crested maina and many more. There are beautiful signboards with pictures, names and fun facts of some of the birds, insects and tree species found ***** the three Eco-trails found here. Shri Vinayak, who conducts the organic garden guided tour for the guests at the resort, deserves special mention. He is a humble person but with an impressive knowledge about the plants and birds of this Club Mahindra resort. He is also the care-taker of this impressive green areas. The second major attraction is a water-themed park with a lazy river, a plunge pool with slides, and a manmade cave with a waterfall - a fun bonanza for kids and adults who want to relive their childhood thrills! The rooms at the resort were clean and comfortable. The service staff were very cordial and friendly. We called one of them to show us the workings of the TV in our room and he was very kind. In fact we had to call him twice and he came willingly stating that we could call him as many times as we wanted!! The food was good however some improvements can be done. Since quite a few senior citizens come to Club Mahindra Resorts some consideration can be made regarding their dietary requirements. For instance there should be an option of no added sugar for the fresh fruit juices offered. Perhaps one or two main dishes could be served with less salt and spices as an option for senior citizens guests at Club Mahindra, especially in the buffet section. Overall as nature lovers we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at this resort!
