Villa Romana Hotel & Spa

Sitting at the top of Positano, basically the furthest you can go - from the pier. Take the bus up there or get your luggage delivered by porters if you're trying to hike all the way up there from the pier - it's a LONG and hard hike. Decent stay, good service from concierge who answered our questions well.

Отель замечательный. Номер был просторный, чистый. На территории был бассейн с зоной отдыха, но время посещения нужно бронировать заранее на ресепшн (это бесплатно). Завтрак очень разнообразный и вкусный. Сам отель находится в 5 минутах от пирса и набережной. Отличный вариант!

在歐洲這麼多年，第一次遇到這種差的飯店，早餐都是一些每天沒有人吃的糕點，服務員拉着臉，給你冷咖啡，叫他從來不理你！ 就是一個騙人消費的小鎮。

Hotel correct. La chambre normale est un peu petite. La situation est très centrale à côté de restaurants disponibles. La personnel est très chaleureux et à l’écoute. Un charme un peu désuet pour ceux qui apprécient. Le problème est surtout la parking. Toute les places publiques sont payantes (1 euro l’heure) et presque toutes occupées même en hiver ou alors vous payez 20 euros la journée a l’hôtel. Le buffet du déjeuner est garni et bon. Les communs (salle à manger) non chauffés fin février, en tout cas c’était mon impression.

Minori is a lovely little town with plenty of bars and restaurants. The harbour is within walking distance of the hotel and it is easy to book the ferry to other areas. We were very disappointed with the hotel however. The public rooms are good. Our bedroom was both noisy and situated on a corner overlooking a narrow street. It had wooden shutters which were permanently closed so no natural light. Whilst the dining room was large and well set out, it stopped there. The waiters were extremely rude and ignored us. Trying to get their attention was a work of art. Two of our party never got their dessert on one evening and we just gave up. The food served was not that of a 4 star hotel, poor quality and lacked imagination and served by scowling waiters. Plates were virtually cleared before you had finished! A shame because this hotel could be an ideal base for touring the Amalfi coast. I cannot recommend staying there.

The location is great for access to the town and coast. The hotel itself is quaint but sadly lacks on so many fronts. The hotel is mostly run by men who are rude and unhelpful. The breakfast tea is cold, the fruit bad and the hot breakfast option is not an option. The rooms are clean and practical although noisy next to the street and the air conditioning can’t cope. We were glad it was May we visited and not mid summer. It’s so sad that with the right management and investment it could be what it looks in the photos and we were not alone in our disappointment. We will be returning to the Amalfi coast but sadly will not be returning to Villa Romana.

Minori is a tiny town, and here you have only 200 m to the beach. There is only valet parking (20 € per day), reception is fine. There is a small outdoor area with pool and sunbeds. Sunbeds cannot be changed in position - so this is very odd! Rooms and bathrooms are fine - but no seaview. Breakfast is buffet style - and fine. But my water for tea was in no way hot....

We loved the hotel and the location. Minori is a small town with a “locals” feel which we liked. Visiting the nearby towns of Almalfi and Miaori we really appreciated the comfortable and more relaxed feel of Minori. The seafront is easily walkable down mostly narrow streets although some roads it can be busy with traffic at times. We spent a lot of time on the seafront just watching the world go by, and the locals! We found the bus service unreliable and when one did appear it was full and not allowing further passengers aboard. Use the ferry service from Minori if it’s running (it won’t run in rough seas), it’s cheap and efficient. We ate mostly on the seafront, there’s plenty of choice for eating out. Our hotel room was very spacious with a good size bathroom and it was super clean, the cleaning staff remade our room daily and it was always spotless. We had a lovely little balance, the only downside was that it faced onto the road and was pretty noisy, the Italians seemed to like tooting their car/moped horns a lot! The doors and shutters did block some of this out but at times it was really noticeable. When we might have had the windows open for the fresh air we found it was too noisy to leave them open. However, as we had such roomy accommodation we tolerated the noise. Breakfast was great, plenty of choice and good quality food.

Hotel is in the middle of the town of Minori. It’s clean, spacious and nothing is a problem. We had a great experience the second we checked in, Rosa on reception is very helpful with arranging anything we needed. Alfonso the F&B manager saw to any of our needs. Coffee is hot and delicious and everyone is so friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone.
