Nikko Cottage FU-Sha

We had a great stay with Yoshiko-san. She was warm and friendly and gave us great tips and recommendations. The house is very conveniently located near the major temples, Kanmangafuchi abyss, and the bus route. The house was also very comfortable, a taste of real Japanese living!

We had a lovely stay at this cottage. The owner was very kind and attentive to our needs. The washing machine was acting up so she offered to handle all of our laundry herself the day after we arrived. When the cottage is set up for a family of 4 there are 2 mats in the sleeping area and 2 on the raised table area, so we had our meals at a table in the small entry room which worked perfectly for us (when set up for a smaller group this entry room can be used for luggage). We liked staying in a quiet neighborhood end took a couple different walks up and down the river, along with seeing the major sights. Definitely recommend.

Yoshiko-san is an amazing host! My husband and I loved our stay at the Nikko Cottage. Yoshiko-san was so kind to pick us up at the Tobu Nikko station. She's a local, so she knew all the great spots and would even give us tips about the weather (some days the winds get big and scary) and how to plan our sight seeing in Nikko. Location wise, this location is about five minutes away from Kanmangafuchi Abyss. It is about a ten minute walk to the Tobu bus line which can take you to Kegon Falls. You can also walk to the Shinkyo Bridge and the It takes about 17 minutes but it is such a beautiful walk and totally worth it. We also were able to go to a nearby onsen called Nikko Wanoshiro by walking 10 minutes to the bus, taking the bus, and walking another 12 minutes to the onsen.

Very well maintained and comfortable traditional home. Comfortable futon beds, large bathroom and kitchen. Perfect location to walk to the temples. Excellent host Yoshiko. She drove us from and to train station, did our laundry and brought us good food for breakfast. Absolute gem.

Great location, in a quiet part of the neighborhood and was able to walk to the sights and convenience store. The host was so helpful and communicative, she dropped me off at the train station and helped me with tickets! Highly recommended, I would stay here if I returned again :)

It was a fantastic experience to be able to stay in a traditional home for a few nights. Yoshiko made our stay so comfortable and provided advice on sightseeing, rides to and from the station, gave us snacks and breakfast food and did our laundry. What a treasure. We hope to go back!

Yoshiko was extremely helpful in so many ways. We were very happy with the accommodations and would recommend it. Great location.
