Lake Natron Maasai Giraffe Eco Lodge and Camping

Nice and friendly campsite with very good facilities and delicious meals. Nice massai "shop" at the camp, had to pay with cash, because visa did not work, take care of enough money, also because of permits and fees. we stayed there as self drivers with roof top tents In Engare Sero there is no proper fuel station, in the centre you can maybe get fuel from canisters.

Nice place... well managed with nice and friendly staff. Also the meals are nice and tasty. We got tents and they were very spacious and well maintained. There is a nice swimming pool that you can take a great refresh after travelling around. There is a nice village nearby, waterfall the lake view and plenty wildlife around

Wow what an amazing stay, I could not recommend this place more! Thank you Mwala and Lepara for guiding and organising our stay- both of you were bomba sana. We did a number of activities, we went mainly for the Ol Doinyo Lengai hike (which was our highlight of Tanzania so far) but we were also blown away by all the other activities the lodge offered - walks to lake natron, footprints included seeing a variety of animals getting far closer to giraffe and zebra than other safaris I have done. Also waterfall hike was great. Asante sana!

It was our second visit to this place and it felt lake a warm welcome back. We stayed not in a tent this time, but in a large luxury cabin. It was only for one night before our return to Arusha. The luxury cabins are new. What stays is that you feel welcome, good food, Masai dances in the evening, cows on the camp ground.

The Maasai Giraffe Eco Lodge was very nice with attention to detail on everything from the room cleanliness and decor to the maintenance of the grounds. We arrived early enough in the day and were able to enjoy a nice swim in the concrete swimming pool. It was a nice fresh and clean pool with some space and separation from the other common areas. The lodge is spread out with grassy space in the middle where some guests setup tents. Dinner was simple but fresh and satisfying. Dinner dining areas was a little closely seated so our group of 7 had to watch how loud we got to not disturb smaller parties of guests. The front porches outside our rooms were a nice place to hang out given the space between buildings. Breakfast was satisfying with a variety of choices and hot coffee. The room was comfortable for sleeping, however, I recall my husband being hot at night. Ceiling fan was good to keep air moving around the room. We visited in Winter season and generally being too warm at night wasn't an issue.

This camp features 17 rooms, which can be arranged as doubles, triples, or quads. Six are family rooms, including four connecting and two separate units, each accommodating up to six guests. Every room comes equipped with 24/7 electricity, bottled water, and a coffee station, allowing guests to charge their devices and enjoy convenience throughout their stay. The natural water pool near the restaurant is a highlight, and WiFi is available in the main areas (restaurant and pool) as well as in a cozy open tent designed for leisure in the heart of the camp. The Giraffe Camp offers unique experiences, including a Maasai market and encounters with domestic cows. During July and August, guests can enjoy a daily Maasai spear-throwing competition around 5:30 PM (of season , followed by Maasai dancing and a traditional Maasai barbecue at 6:30 PM, where you dine in authentic Maasai style. The owner, Ingrid, a French-speaking Belgian, is deeply committed to supporting the Maasai community and preserving the environment. A wonderful destination for both couples and families!
