You’re reading reviews because you want some reassurance that Cairndoon Byre is a good choice for accommodation. Personally, what I want from a B&B is a warm welcome, a comfortable, well-appointed and well-equipped room, and a good breakfast. Anything more is a bonus. Dot and Adrian serve up all these needs and so much more at Cairndown Byre. The property is incredible, and absolutely spotless. The welcome is second-to-none as Dot and Adrian immediately make you feel at home so you can decompress and relax. Beds are very comfy and the shower - well just experience that cleansing water pressure for yourself. Breakfast is pretty much bespoke as you can combine the ingredients you desire from a comprehensive list, to get your day off to a delicious start. And just outside the property, the surrounding countryside is nothing short of magnificent with stunning views, great walks, and the incredible history of the Whithorn peninsula. We loved our two nights at Cairndoon Byre, and if you are still reading this review, take it from me, rest assured, you will love it too.

Booked this as I messed up my first choice...boy am I glad I did! Super location , although a little further out than anticipated. Gorgeous views all round. Absolutely fantastic hosts, Dot and Adrian could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. Beautiful room with fabulous views and all the nice touches , body lotion ... And as if that was not enough breakfast was awesome!

This is a truly beautiful place to be. Dot and Adrian are the perfect hosts. Apart from the exquisite and peaceful surroundings, the rooms are spotless, the bed and bedding are of an extremely high quality, the towels are fluffy and warm and the selection of breakfasts is mouth watering. My choice of eggs and salmon were freshly prepared by Adrian and were sprinkled with fresh chives from Dot’s own vegetable garden. I cannot praise this home away from home enough. Cairndoon Byre is remote enough to have a quiet environment to read and relax but close enough to walks, restaurants, beaches and local historical attractions. I definitely recommend a stay with Dot and Adrian. Five STARS :)
