A private family run hotel and you could understand why it is so good. The staff were interested and very helpful, attentive at all times and creating a really friendly vibe. First time at the hotel and will recommend it !

Beautiful boutique hotel in a fabulous building. Staff were exceptionally polite, helpful & well trained. Food was excellent evening meal and breakfast. We used the Spa facilities which were as good as any we’ve been to. Will come back when working this way in the next few weeks.

Really lovely, helpful staff. A beautiful place to stay and the views are stunning. The garden is a relaxing place to sit out and enjoy either eating, having a drink or admiring the view! The food is good, breakfast is top notch. The Spa is one of the nicest I've been to and I've been to a fair few! The massage was also very good and worth every penny. I have had a thoroughly relaxing and delightful stay.

There is nothing to fault with the Ilsington. From arrival to checkout everything was so good. Food was beautiful. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Homemade flapjacks in the room were a lovely touch. Comfortable bed, the gym was well equipped. The spa was perfect. Our massages were one of the best ever had. Would recommend without a doubt the Ilsington. And will return

Stopped for a late lunch and sat on the terrace and enjoyed our food. WE decided to book for an evening meal in the Blue tiger. The service was fantastic as was the meal. Great selection of wine, just a couple of bottles consumed ! Well done to all the team that looked after us.

Wonderful afternoon tea with the family in celebration of my wife's birthday. The service was brilliant and the selection of food item very good. Congratulations on such a colourful selection of pastries. We also had a savoury tea for one of our party, this was a lovely presentation and the cheese scone were very good.

For me the Islington hotel is a very tyical English hotel. With a wonderful lounge area, a great garden in which we loved to play crocket in the perfect lawn. I loved the friendly atmosphere and the cream tea in the afternoon. We would come back anytime.

Super little hotel on gateway to Dartmoor. Excellent rooms, comfortable beds, efficient friendly and professional staff in all areas of the hotel - front desk, restaurant, bar and house keeping. Fab health spa attached to the hotel - great pool, steams and Turkish Bath. Stylish and relaxing restaurant serving seriously good food and again, friendly and professional service. Since Brexit, have stayed in many 4 and 5 star hotel around the UK. Sadly, most are now dire with poor service, crazy prices and slumping standards. This hotel totally bucks that trend and all staff that work there should be proud of the great standard they achieve. Thanks for the great stay. Would always want to stay here when in Dartmoor.
