Millers Close Holiday Cottages

Truly awful experience.. booked 'Jimmys Cottage' only to find there is another 'Jimmy Cottage'. My booking confirmation did not carry an address or postcode, I went to the 'other' Jimmys Cottage. We realised what had happened but were now left with no accommodation, even worse when I called Ciaran she immediately went defensive about cancellation. Next day she messaged to say the 'owners' would refund me just £150 from a £360 booking when we hadn't even got there!! We booked the day before, so it was hardly busy, yet they then said they'd turned away a £700 booking, when asked for the details they blocked my number and now won't reply.. Totally unfair from an honest mistake on a booking not 24 hrs old, mistake due to multiple names and no booking confirmation of address. They've taken £210 of me and now blocked me, pathetic behaviour from a holiday cottage company.. Given 1 as 0 not available!!

This is my 3rd or 4th stay with Jacinta. It's now my yearly ritual to go I just love it so much. So peaceful and close to the centre of Newcastle close to Castlewellan as well. Place is always spotless and kind enough to leave you a wee biscuit and pint of milk on arrival. We ordered breakfast on Sunday which was so handy. Definitely value for money you wouldn't get it in a restaurant. Food is delicious. definitely get a cooked breakfast for your stay totally recommend. Can't wait to come back again!

When you have a vista the like of the one outside Millars Cottages on your doorstep, you’re one step ahead of the competition before you begin. But you don’t want to know about the view, what about Jimmy’s cottage, I hear you ask? Well, it has two comfortable spacious bedrooms, a shower room on the ground floor and a bathroom on the first. There’s a mezzanine sitting room with plenty of room and a spacious well equipped kitchen. None If the fixtures and fittings should any sign of their age which is no mean feat considering the cottages are 25yrs old this year. Outside there is a picnic bench and fire pit. Unfortunately, with snow on the Marilyns, sitting out was not a choice for the sane. There was a comfortable chair at the French windows which sated the desire to just sit, look and contemplate which should be your main preoccupation in the Mournes. I can’t think of a better spot to do this than Millars!
