Michel House is the best of the best in Nazareth. It is a gorgeous old building with views forever, and when I walked in, I was greeted warmly for my two night stay by Michel, the grandson of the owner (also named Michel). He was a very good and helpful young man at all times through my stay here -- which I would have loved to expand to another day or two, simply because the hotel itself was so pleasant. I was overjoyed to find an absolutely spotless room -- Liana's Room -- that had been upgraded to a balcony room (and I sat on that balcony each night for the cool breeze as it was June and very hot in the daytime). Every furnishing looked totally new, everything was immaculately clean, the shower was beautiful with a rainshower head, there was a mini-fridge and kettle, and sidelamps to read with in bed. It was totally lovely, not to mention the actual hotel was filled with gorgeous antiques. But we should discuss the breakfast. Because it was the real thing. I had many wonderful Israeli breakfasts in Israel at different hotels. But this, they made fully from scratch, at 4:30am, with over twenty dishes, and I think I had some of everything. Every single dish was divine. They will also make you an omelet if the selection isn't enough (as if it could ever happen!) -- here, I had home cooking at its finest, down to Emil making a tea from the herbs in his own garden, which tasted like very mild licorice and which was delicious! If you are lucky, Michel Sr., the grandfather, will wake and come to your table, talk, and make sure you are enjoying your food. He talks about his life and it has been a very incredible one, so it felt like I was not in some impersonal hotel but with a family, which I loved. So that's the kind of place Michel House is. It's the place I come back to if I am ever heading to Nazareth again, and it's the place I tell everyone that they should go to. I saw several other hotels in the area (did I mention the hotel is PERFECTLY located? By Mary's Well, five minutes walk). Many were nice too. But this had a different vibe that I loved. I stayed in each night as there isn't much nightlife in Nazareth and just read in my outrageously comfortable bed. Big, big recommend!
