Lakeview Inn

We have been going to this property for years with the previous owners and loved it. Mike and Patti made everyone feel welcome. This was the opposite. I asked the owner for a gluten free option for my wife and suggested scrambled eggs (since they were making pancakes and obviously had eggs). She angrily said no and reminded me that she had posted the menu the night before. When I said ok and we walked out to go somewhere else she followed me out and berated me in front of other guests, who came up after to tell me they were appalled by her behavior. She repeated that we had been told the menu and I again explained my wife could not eat it, but she again sneered that we had been told the menu the night before. When I said we would go somewhere else to eat she again said we knew the menu. The next am the menu was not posted and when I asked her what was available again she told me to check the posting, of which there was none. She literally would not tell me even though it is a set menu. Also the wifi didn't work, there was little to no water pressure in the sink and shower, the pillows were poor, there was no housekeeping and on one side of the room and in the bathroom if you didn't duck you would bang your head, especially at night in the dark. We have had many wonderful stays at that property under 2 previous owners but we will never go back.

Anthony and Leila were fantastic hosts during our stay. The three-course, homemade breakfasts were delicious and filled us for a good part of the day. They provided us with great tips during our stay, including restaurants in Portland and where to find local maple syrup. The room was small, but comfortable. The inn was well-situated for our hikes and exploring the area.

Had an absolutely wonderful stay at Lakeview - last minute booking and it did not disappoint! Leila and Anthony are wonderful hosts - and the 3 course breakfasts on their front porch with views of the lake are not to be missed! We will definitely be returning when we visit Sebago Lake again.

The inn is ideally located for visiting the Naples Causeway. You can walk to the restaurants and various shops. The room we stayed in was clean and nicely decorated. The breakfast served each morning was delicious. Having said that.....as previous reviews mentioned, there are a number of rules at the inn and extra charges if you do not follow the rules. There is no housekeeping during your stay and you are responsible for your own trash removal upon leaving. The television reception was poor and the road below can be loud.

Only stayed for one night but wish I never had to leave. Stayed on a Thursday night for a "Mom's Night Away", a Christmas gift from my husband. Saw the Inn online and knew immediately it was perfect. Opted for the early check-in. Received a warm welcome from Leila and had a lovely chat about the history of the inn and how her and Anthony came to own it. My room was perfect- spacious but cozy. VERY clean with every amenity I needed. (It may seem like an insignificant detail, but included with my normal fresh white towels was a designated black "MAKEUP" towel which I loved). Took the longest, hottest shower of my life and enjoyed the lake view from my room. The bed was huge and so comfortable, I slept like I was dead! Breakfast the next morning was absolutely delicious. I rarely photograph my food before eating, but this time I did! The great room/dining area is so cozy and you can feel the history all around you. The worst part of my stay was check out because I didn't want to leave! My husband and I have already talked about planning a trip back together. I can only imagine running an inn is difficult work, so I appreciate every little detail that was thought of and the warm welcome and treatment I received throughout my stay. Can't wait to visit again! ＜3

When I reserve the room I was told at least I thought I was told we had a refrigerator so we had packed all of our food for the weekend to stay at your inn, the room was very small, and the toilet seat broke off. The Internet did not work and the TV did not work. We asked if these things be fixed and they weren’t. Also we only saw the owner one time when we were there for two days just for breakfast the first day the second day I had hurt my back and I couldn’t get down to breakfast. My husband went down, but they would not even let him bring a muffin up to my room to eat. We contacted them by phone but they didn’t answer us at first finally they didn’t answer cost. We did ask for a refund for part of our stay because of the Internet, the TV and not being able just to have a muffin come up to my room, but we were told no. I think that this place should be under scrutiny for false advertising and I will pursue this with the Better Business Bureau of Maine if I do not get a response from you about a refund.
