We were pushed into 'Anka' as part of our Mount Kenya safari, and while the ground are pleasant (usable pool, green everywhere, active gardens lining the grounds), it definitely needs some changes. When we first entered our room it felt gloomy and there were multiple dead insects around. Each "room" is set up like it's own little cottage, but lacking the necessities to be self-sustainable (fridge, cooking materials). If they had been overrun with customers, I would understand; we were literally the only guests for our three days. Also, it's address is listed as "Nanyuki Town" but you are a good 20-minute drive (or unsafe hour-plus walk) from the Equator marker just inside town.) Service is attentive, and it is a very pleasant family that runs 'Anka'. Breakfasts were almost absurdly large, but not necessarily what we ordered! When our travel plans changed and we were forced back to Nairobi a day early, they did (begrudgingly) refund part of our last night. Overall, you could do worse in Nanyuki, but 'Anka' could be much better than it is. I'd recommend looking elsewhere, somewhere in town.
