The Nantucket Hotel & Resort

Nantucket is so lovely, and this place is in the heart of it all. However, we were somewhat disappointed by the accommodations (cottage 3) which were not as luxury as the price would lead you to expect. The rooms and bathrooms are TINY. Like NYC tiny. I'm attaching a photo of the six inches between the bed and the dresser. I understand that the cottages are likely old and that's why. We also noticed several places where the building was literally falling apart (wood that was rotting, tiles that were permanently dirty, etc.). I think they can improve the quality of the rooms. And while everyone was friendly, we did have a few frustrating experiences with the staff. For instance, no one ever returned our emails (the email they said to reach out to if we had any questions). Staff also couldn't answer simple questions about how the kids club worked. They also failed to call us a taxi as we had requested which led us to be late to the airport. It sometimes felt like the staff were all new and just figuring things out. Friendly but not so competent. Perhaps that's par for course at a seasonal hotel. Unfortunately I don't think we would stay here again. It was simply not up to the standards you would expect in this price range.

We started our trip to beautiful Nantucket on an early ferry. Unknowingly, upon arrival we were greeted by the amazing John Santana at the front desk, who not only let us check in early, but had actually upgraded our room! We enjoyed all Nantucket and the hotel has to offer for New Years Eve, and treated ourselves to a delicious dinner at Breeze on New Years Day. The food and service was immaculate and would highly recommend a meal here for anyone looking for some of the best food on the island. Unfortunately, on our departure date we fell victim to high winds and loads of cancellations of ferries. Not only did John help/advise us on our next best steps to get home, but actually let us stay in our room for a later checkout until we had to leave. To John and the entire Nantucket Hotel staff, THANK YOU for an unforgettable experience and a fabulous start to 2025!

The magic started when Fulya picked me up at the wharf. I felt like family coming home to visit. She dropped me off at the at the rental shop and offered to take my bags ahead. When I arrived at the hotel, she greeted me again, as it was a returning friend. She made sure to answer all my questions and settle me in. When I had a question about my bathroom door sticking, she sent the nicest maintenance man down. The door was fixed the next day. The room was amazing, and the food at the Breeze was amazing. You can tell everyone at the hotel loves their job. Thank you for making this a wonderful trip for me.

Wow, where to begin. The room was not ready on time. We had to wait in the lobby for almost 30 minutes past check in time until it was ready. That seemed like ages after a long day of travelling. We were tired and just wanted to crash. No refreshments or even drinks were offered while we waited. The room's door is located *directly* in front of an AC vent, which was on, constantly, at full blast, blowing freezing air at the door. Not only was it loud enough to hear from inside the room, with the door closed, but it meant that every time one enters or leaves the room, one gets chilled to the bone. See photo #1. The room itself was nice and clean. The fireplace adds a nice touch. The bathroom, however, was not clean at all. There was a hair, presumably left behind by a previous guest, on the shower wall and another one on the ceiling (HOW?!). See photo #2. There were also small remnants of mold on the bathroom ceiling. See photo #3. The hot water temperature in the shower constantly fluctuates. You can feel it reach a higher temperature when you turn the dial all the way to the left, yet every time you do so, it goes back to lukewarm temperature after a few seconds and continues to do so throughout your entire time in the shower. The dial says 100 degrees, yet it feels like much less than that. The doorstop in the room is located so terribly and haphazardly that it was tripped over several times. It's right in front of the closet and active attention is required in order to not to step on it when accessing items in the closet, particularly the ironing board. I stubbed my toe so bad it ripped off a significant part of my toe nail. I called the front desk, asking for medical tape. They said they did not have medical tape available, which a basic and standard part of a first aid kit, only band-aids, which weren't useful in this instance. The room has no sound isolation whatsoever. We could hear creaking from the room above us every time the guests staying there took a single step on the floor. That actually woke us up multiple times over multiple nights. One of us slept under the pillow, the other one used earplugs. At some point I was woken up abruptly by incessant loud beeping from the adjacent room. I had to get up, get dressed and go outside to figure out what was going on. Saw a hotel staff member and asked him. He said it was a faulty smoke alarm. I told him I'm trying to sleep, his only reply was "I know, I know". Poor cleaning and lack of proper full aid supplies is simply unacceptable! The only positive aspects of our stay were the size of the bed, the amount of electrical and USB sockets and the friendliness of the staff. One of the worst hotel stays of our lives. We sent this review to the hotel, at their request, but haven't received any response yet. This was over two weeks ago.

Everything about the hotel was amazing! The service, the spa, the staff, and location were all top notch. From the moment we were picked up at the ferry, it felt like we were with old friends and had known all the staff for a long time. Can't wait to go back!

From the moment we reached the hotel to the moment we left we were treated in a first class manner. The hotel is centrally located, just a few minutes walk to the centre of town, and it’s a beautiful, well kept property. Beds are super comfy we slept like babies.The staff are friendly, helpful and courteous. I had a luggage issue and John drove me back to the airport and waited patiently while I sorted it out. Gabe at the front door was friendly and we enjoyed chatting with him. The front desk staff were always amazing as well as the manager, John, at the restaurant. The food, by the way, was excellent. On our return to Nantucket - and we will be back - the Nantucket Hotel will be our #1 choice.
