Lake Elmenteita Serena Camp

Very safe, clean and posh establishment. The food is fresh and tasty with a wide variety of wines. I enjoyed every bit of it. The Manager Mr. Lameck is very professional and interacts well with both Guests and staff. I was privileged to Interact with Ivy and Dorothy. The Spa is well stocked and enjoyed the good services offered by Brian.

Absolutely beautiful hotel in an idealic setting. It is like a scene from “Out of Africa”. A tented camp in the shore of Lake Elementaita. The minute you walk into the lobby you are transported to a colonial camp in the middle of Africa. The rooms are spectacular! Huge and with every ammenity. Bathrooms are super spacious. Each room has a little porch with amazing views. The staff go out of their way to make your stay memorable. I would point out Dennis who was efficient and specially nice. Dinner and breakfast are served in the dining room (or in the terrace) and the menu varies each day offering two or three different options. The hotel was so beautiful that one of the days we cancelled our afternoon safari in order to enjoy the hotel. Would definitely come back!

Excellent environment.... The food was good The staff were the best... Chef Kennedy Aluvi took good care of my dietary concerns....... I had an awesome time.. I loved the rangers tour which was very educative .... Definitely a place to visit again

Absolutely amazing 2 days at Serena Elementaita. The luxury tents are beautiful, and the staff is truly amazing, giving the best service ever. We miss Dennis in the restaurant already, charming our whole family, and especially our 8-year old Karoline. Dominique always smiling and making the room perfect twice a day for us is also worth mentioning. The whole staffgroup are the warmest, loveliest people ever. The food is delicious, and the location is beautiful near by the lake, having zebras, buffalos, flamingoes and even hippos walking nearby while you enjoy a nice meal or take a swim in the pool. This is really a special place!

This camp is absolutely amazing. From the welcome, to the property to the food, the ambience. Oh wow!!! Then there is the wonderful and amazing Chef Ken Aluvi. He was so accommodating and even made a special meal for us. Kudos Chef Aluvi, you made our stay even more memorable. We are surely coming back.

Just completed a package with Serena hotels, and by far Lake Elementaita was the best of the locations we visited. The staff spoiled us and treated us like VIPs. Meals were each a 4-course preparation, but the staff and chef were very easy and willing to accommodate any dietary needs. The chef came out many times to check on the tables. The location was great to see many animals and was a short drive to Lake Nakuru for additional game drive viewing. They had a beautiful running trail and pool facility. Our favorite activity was the horse back riding experience along the lake. One of the guides took my cell phone and shot photos of the entire experience for us. He was quite the photographer too! The highlight of our 3 night stay was the private sundowner. The location, food, drinks and ambiance was just incredible. The staff was just so professional and truly made all guests so comfortable. They made it a point to know and find out our itinerary and then ask us at dinner “how was today’s game drive” or “how was your horseback ride”. One of the best places I have ever stayed. Everyone was great! But a special shout out to Dennis, who served us and had our drink orders memorized! And a big thank you to Japheth for sharing his beautiful voice by serenading us at the Sundowner. We hope to come back next year!

It is a good place to relax providing your aren’t surrounded by screaming kids . Time to visit would be when lake waters are low and flamingoes are visiting . Not many animals . Tents are comfortable. Take a book to read as it can become boring. Other activities are quite pricey . Make sure to take a tent that isn’t near a family with kids as it can be a bit too much when you are trying to rest at night

Enroute Maasai Mara from Amboseli National Park, we stopped over at Lake Elmentaita Serena Camp which bowled us over with the excellent food, service and luxurious accomodation. However, we were quite disappointed with the lack of wild life as there was only a shallow water body with some flamingos, ducks, cranes etc, which we already was at Amboseli lake. Would have enjoyed Nakuru and Lake Naivasha lot better with lot more wild life and birds.

This was the last stop on our latest safari and it was a welcome relaxing stop after over a week in the bush. The staff was attentive to every detail and provided for us without fail. The food and drink is excellent. The property is more accurately described as resort level rather than texted camp. Highly recommended.
