The Riverview Retreat Corbett by Leisure Hotels

Overview: The Riverview Retreat is a fantastic getaway for a relaxing experience in Jim Corbett. Situated on the riverside, it offers an excellent on and offshore experience of the Kosi. We had visited in the month of October which made the weather pleasant enough for sitting by the river banks and having a safari in the National Park. Room: We had stayed in the Duplex Studio which was situated right over the reception. It offered a vast space of 21 sq.m. paired with a shared balcony space with tables and chairs set up (see photo). The room was nice in itself but lacked proper maintenance and had few parts of the lights and A/C controls broken or straight up missing. The bed setup was nice with a double bed on the bottom floor and a twin bed setup on the top floor. The stairs to the top floor are a bit steep so one has to be careful. The room also comes with a 43 inch LED TV which has good audio and video. The bathroom albeit a bit small is nice and is properly maintained. Overall the room is nice after the renovation but the maintenance team has to step-up their work. Food: The room has come with a package of Breakfast + Dinner option. The main restaurant, "The Gurney" is where all the meals are served. The food was excellent and so delicious during both the meals. The breakfast options contained all of the usual options of juices, cereals, North and South Indian as well as European cuisines. Although the there were new options everyday, some were repeated from the past day but everything was fresh. There were also live counters for South Indian, Pancakes, Waffles, Paranthas, etc. ***** with multiple condiments, spreads, marmalade, etc. In Dinner, a similar pattern followed with sweet dishes and Chinese cuisine. After dinner, you could also sit outside near the river deck, and listen to the live music being played and sung by a talented artist. Now, onto the Complimentary High-Tea. The service was nice and all the food was fresh. Most of the food in the high-tea as well as the main meals was created by Mr. Pandey and his wife who have been with Riverview Retreat for 15-20 years (even before being acquired by Leisure Hotels group). Mr Pandey created the awesome Kullhad chai which full of milk and flavour. While his wife created the buttery and savoury Bun Maska. More dishes and drinks such as coleslaw sandwiches, pakodas, iced teas, etc. were also available. Overall, the food of the hotel was very flavoursome and appetizing. All thanks to the Chefs, Mr. Pandey and his wife and hotel management for upholding the quality of the food. River View: The River front is absolutely stunning and serene. It has a nice wide landscape with the calmness of the Kosi river. The resort has provided many entry points to the river banks which starts with a sandy path but quickly turns into a rocky path, which might make you trip, so one has to be careful there too. Apart from that, one can enjoy sitting on some boulders which are either just on the river ban

There are many excellent homestays and resorts ***** the same stretch of road, but after staying at Riverview Retreat and exploring the riverbed, I’m 100% convinced that there’s no place—not even the nearby Taj—that offers a view like this! Without a doubt, it’s the best view in the area. We visited at the end of October during the dry season, and it was an unforgettable experience to literally walk ***** the riverbed. If you're lucky, you might even witness tigers coming down to drink from the river, as the resort sits right across from the intersection of two hills where they sometimes appear. While we didn’t spot one ourselves, the staff showed us some incredible photos they've captured! The sunrise over this intersection is absolutely breathtaking, and waking up early to watch it from the deck is a must. Beyond the unbeatable location, the resort itself is stunning. The beautifully designed gardens, deck, and cottages made our 5-night stay thoroughly enjoyable. I never found myself bored for a moment. The food was fantastic, and there’s nothing quite like relaxing on the deck with a drink in hand, listening to the river and soaking in the peaceful ambiance. Worth every single rupee! Each night, there was live music, and one evening we were treated to a captivating Kumaoni dance performance that gave us a taste of the local culture. It was a memorable highlight of our stay. While I can't remember everyone’s name (and that’s on me), I have to give a special shoutout to Bala and Laxman, who were wonderful hosts. Their stories about the local cuisine, culture, and tiger encounters added so much richness to the experience. I’m already recommending this place to everyone I know—it’s truly one of a kind!

Property is very good, value for Money. Breakfast was great, mouth watering… Special thing is wake up in the Morning 6 am sit at the Bank of river… then Uncle ( forgot his name) prepare pahadi mashala chai , which is really awesome. Mutton Rice in the dinner was delicious. Support and care by the Staff members were incredible. We forgot some clothes and one friend some cash. Thanks to their honest and staff member. Mr. Gopal has Co ordinated till Money was transferred on line and clothes were couriered. It was really great experience

If you looking for a nearby weekend getaway. This is the perfect destination for you. A 4.5-hour drive from Delhi, they provide safari rides as well. The evenings are quite relaxing. Please don't forget to have kulhad chai at their property.

This is one trip I wish I had made earlier! Stayed at the Riverview Retreat for 3 days with my octogenarian parents and kids. Had a wonderful time at this property! We had booked 2 Premium rooms that had an attached living room. Just perfect for the 6 of us! Very spacious, sparkling clean rooms with staff that made the stay even more memorable for us. It was my husband's birthday and I had requested for a cake at midnight and some flowers the next morning. Everything was arranged well in time. The breakfast spread was grand and scrumptious. More than ample options for all age groups. We are vegetarians and I was delighted to see numerous eggless options in breads and bakery. The complementary high tea was the high point! Tasty snack options by the riverside every evening was simply amazing. The swimming pool was nice and clean, and the river was accessible. Three days and we didn't feel the need to venture out of the hotel even once. We had gone to relax and this was really rejuvenating. The staff was courteous, polite, hospitable and very sweet! Special thanks to each one of them for a lovely time!

Well our stay as a family at this picturesque resort was very comfortable and rejuvenating . The river front deck surrounded in the midst of the Corbett forest range is truly mystical overlooking the kosi river . We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this very comfortable resort, this being a repeat visit in a very short time and yes if you are a floral fauna and bird lover like us you would fall in love with this place at first glance .. The resort is situated at Dhikhuli and the property USP is the greenery hospitality and river front view and location The staff at the resort is very well trained and hospitable including the housekeeping which is top notch ... If you are visiting for a relaxing nature lapped holiday ...look no further as I have visited other properties too around the area but this one meets my expectations beyond doubt .. The premium category rooms are very modern and comfortable . The restaurant is huge and serves you a vast continental , Chinese and Indian cusine and especially their laal Maas and pizzas is to die for . The only downside perhaps is the pool which is little small but with such a huge enticing riverfront I am not complaining Special mention to the team putting attention to detail in everything including the furniture used , tapestry selected and also the brand inaea toiletries provided to the guests .. The high tea in the evening to the relaxing music and soothing bansuri in the morning ...Each thing has been looked into to bring calmness and serenity to the stay Special mention to the manager Shri Ajay and FB team Mr Anthony , Surender at the deck area and Mr Gopal at Housekeeping who looked after each detail .. Riverview Retreat indeed as the name suggests a heavenly luxury experience in the lap of Nature overlooking the riverfront .. Total Bliss..
