Opora Country Living

Beautiful setting with beautiful hosts! Treat yourself and stay here!! Perfectly designed rooms surrounded by beautiful gardens. Everything you need is here and the breakfasts are the best anywhere. Also, they have a full bar/coffee bar for all your needs. We will be back for sure.

We rented a small house for my husband and I and a single room for my son. Both very clean and comfortable. Very quiet location, but close to Nafplio, Epidavros, etc. Breakfasts on the terrace are incredible - so much food, accompanied by fresh squeezed orange juice and homemade jams! Afternoon menu is also excellent. 2 pools are on site.

My husband and I stayed in the Oporanos First Floor room on Saturday and Sunday. The hosts are Mr. and Mrs. Marikides who live just a few kilometres away but are usually at the property in the mornings and afternoons. The decor is the room is cosy rustic luxury - the mattress and pillows were very comfortable, the towels plush and a range of Olive Era toiletries was provided. There is a mini-fridge and as mini-wine fridge in the room. We enjoyed breakfast both mornings - it is served in the quite peaceful deli-garden with a view. Breakfast is generous in size with fresh-squeezed orange juice, yoghurt, fruit, eggs, bread. The deli also offers a short but delicious menu for take-away meals, wine, and eat-in lunch and dinner (upto 8pm). The hosts and the ladies in the deli are very welcoming and ready with suggestions for where to visit and eat in nearby villages (10-15 mins drive) and Nafplio (within 30 mins drive). If we had stayed more than 2 nights and not packed our itinerary to visit Nafplio and Nemea, we would have been able to relax by the two swimming pools on the property which is surrounded by olive and orange trees. There are only a handful of rooms at Opora and it's suited for those who like a quiet stay - the place is romantic and hospitality is wonderful. We would be pleased to stay again next time we visit the Peloponnese.

A very nice and well designed hotel, which perfectly fits in the surrounding landscape. We stayed for only one day so we didn't have the chance to walk around all the property. Our maisonette suite was nice designed with a very good Coconat bed. The breakfast was served in the rooms and it was really good. Too close to Nafplion a great location to start your activities. We intent to return for a longer stay during summer!

We hebben hier 4 dagen verbleven in de country room I. Je bent er voor (zoals mijn echtgenote) of je bent er niet voor (zoals ik): de Opora style, oftewel veel authentieke en hergebruikte materialen. Mooi en gezellig natuurlijk, maar niet altijd functioneel en hygiënisch. Zo hebben de hergebruikte koperen leidingen in de badkamer wel hun charme, maar veel water geven ze niet, ze lekken en maken een hels lawaai bij gebruik. Onze country room was ook vrij klein met beperkte ruimte voor een koffer of kleren (waarom dan nog al dat hout en een gigantische vaas???). Bij de gebruikelijke hitte gaf de kamer zelfs een claustrofobisch gevoel en had je de indruk van een zuurstoftekort. Het ontbijt dan: alles erop en eraan, oa. vers fruit uit eigen tuin, maar het wordt helaas op het eigen terras bij de kamer geserveerd, ondanks de immense mooie hoekjes overal op het domein. Je leert dus niemand kennen en je krijgt wat je krijgt (= veel te veel!). Waarom niet gewoon een ontbijtbuffet, zodat mensen kunnen kiezen waarmee ze de dag beginnen? Last but not least was er de poetsdienst. 's Avonds gebruikten wij de iets comfortabeler stoelen van de ontbijttafel en om niemand te storen wilden wij die pas daags nadien terug omwisselen. Helaas vond de poetsvrouw/-man het nodig om 's morgens al om 7.00u de blaadjes (10 ?) voor de deur te komen wegborstelen - 1 keer zelfs al om 6u30 - en de stoelen met het nodige lawaai terug op hun plaats te zetten. Ongetwijfeld goedbedoeld, maar waarom??? We hebben hier ook nog een private dinner gehad: zeer lekker en gezellig, maar net iets te duur (120 € pp.!!!) en ondanks de aankondiging van aangepaste wijnen bij de verschillende gerechten hebben we welgeteld 1 fles rode wijn gekregen. Maar Opora heeft ook teveel positieve kanten om een slechte beoordeling te geven: de supervriendelijke mensen, het lekkere eten dat je in het winkeltje kan kopen, het mooie groene decor (olijfbomen, fruitbomen, etc.), het zwembad, de rustige omgeving, de uitstekende ligging, enz. enz. Dus overall een positieve ervaring met een aantal niet onbelangrijke minpuntjes. De volgende keer zou ik in elk geval voor een grotere kamer gaan.

Το σκηνικό που σε υποδέχεται είναι μαγευτικό, ελαιόδεντρα και πορτοκαλιές σε πλήρη αρμονία με τις προσεκτικά ανακαινισμένες αγροικίες! Κάθε γωνιά μέσα και έξω από τα καταλύματα νιώθεις ότι έχει διαμορφωθεί με μοναδικό γούστο για να σου προσφέρει άνεση και θαλπωρή! Εξαιρετικά άνετα κρεβάτια και υπέροχο σπιτικό πρωινό! Η προσθήκη γευμάτων και η προσφορά σνακ και ποτών από το μικρό τους κατάστημα μάς επέτρεψε να περάσουμε περισσότερο χρόνο απολαμβάνοντας την ηρεμία του αγροκτήματος! Η διαμονή στο Opora είναι μια ξεχωριστή εμπειρία που θα επιδιώκουμε να ζούμε ξανά και ξανά!
