We stayed at the Fairfield Inn after an Iowa Hawkeyes game. The check-in process was easy (we used Marriott points) and the lobby was very clean. Our room was on the 3rd floor facing the front parking lot and we had no noise problems The room was exceptionally clean, had a down duvet, a bed scarf, a navy blue ribbon around the duvet and the pillow shams, and overall the room cleanliness and quality was like a regular Marriott. In econo-style hotels like this I'm always worried about how the bed will be, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. Tons of towels in the bathroom, Pantene haircare products. Complimentary breakfast included coffee, apple and orange juices, bagels, English muffins, Danish, mini-muffins, a selection of cold cereals, apples, bananas, butter, peanut butter, jam, skim, 2% and whole milk and Belgian waffle batter with a waffle iron for fresh waffles. They even have 2 slices of white and wheat bread in individual plastic sandwich bags should you wish to make a sandwich for the road. We had a small problem at check-out in that the hotel had charged us $10 + 2 taxes, when the room should have been free with Marriott points. The front desk person was very apologetic, gave me the name of the front desk manager and accounting mgr, took my number and the accounting mgr called me the next day to assure me that the erroneous charge was taken care of. All in all a great stay. This Fairfield Inn has super-clean/updated rooms and a customer-service oriented staff.
