My Hill Eco Lodge

I stayed 2 nights while climbing the Muhabura Volcano. The staff is friendly and the accommodations perhaps a bit rustic. There are individual huts or tent-huts located on the hill above the restaurant/reception. There was no internet available the first day, but this got fixed on my second night. The place opened just as the Covid pandemic came in 2020 - very unfortunate! The access is by boat service provided by the lodge, it was always available when needed. The lodge is expanding as they make more accommodations, but construction work did not interfere in any way.

The lodge, at the point of a peninsula, is best accessed by boat across the lake - and what better way to reach your accommodation. It's a lovely comfortable lodge, serving excellent food, with large and well-appointed cabins. The staff (thank you, Virginie) were lovely and welcoming. Once you're there, a boat trip on the lake and/or a long walk along its shores are great activities and a chance for some top-quality bird-watching.

Arriving by boat to this great lodge, with its wonderful views over the water to the many islands, was very special. Vincent and Virginie looked after us very well. The food was very good and we loved our room - simple but clean. The only improvement would be a stronger water supply as the shower wasn't very powerful. But we very much enjoyed our stay and our boat trip round the lake with Lewis and our guide Darfi.

It has been a few months since my stay at My Hill Eco Lodge and I still dream about waking up to those views. The facilities are basic and the lodge itself is nothing fancy, but the location is stunning and there is nothing quite as peaceful as waking up to those views and having breakfast on the balcony or taking a boat ride at dawn to the lodge. I highly recommend!

Such a beautiful location overlooking Lake Ruhondo. Staff were so helpful and pleasant and the food was delicious including the tilapia right from the lake. We did the boat trip/hike up the ridge to see the other twin lake. This was well worth the effort. The cabins are nicer the higher up you go.

Le dépaysement commence dès l'arrivée, en bateau, sur le lac au pied des volcans. Le lodge est magnifique, très bien entretenu, avec un personnel attentif au détail et à la clientèle. Gervais (francophile) a tout fait pour que notre groupe profite au mieux de son séjour : feu de bois, poisson grillé pêché 3h avant le dîner, organisation d'une excursion entre les 2 lacs tôt le matin. Nous avons bien profité du cocon de ce lodge à la vue imprenable.

Très beau lodge au bord du lac Ruhando l’endroit est paisible et reposant la vue est magnifique. Il faut compter 15 minutes de bateau pour rejoindre le lodge. Merci Gervais pour ton accueil et ton sourire Le personnel est aux petits soins la nourriture est très bonne

Cet hôtel est vraiment magnifique, que ce soit pour la nourriture ou pour les paysages. Il y a une vue imprenable sur le lac de la chambre ou de la terrasse. Je conseille vraiment cet hôtel aux personnes qui se rendent au Rwanda.

Le lodge est parfait, la vue depuis la terrasse est à couper le souffle. Nous avons rejoint le lodge en bateau. Le poisson grillé que nous avons dégusté le soir était excellent. Le petit déjeuner était très bon également
