Dusit Thani Maldives

The trip of the lifetime! Our butler Hassan made our stay smooth. Our daughter had ear pain on the first night and the Doctor gave her all she needed to recover. The island is gorgeus, the house reef is wonderful and you can see the underwater life at your first step to the ocean. We loved the food and honestly the helpers around us: Obbs, Alex, Bob, Mona, Saeed, Kabi, Pabi made our stay unforgettable! I was literally crying when we needed to return to Europe! I absolutely recommend the luxury villa with pool for families with children! Our daughter fell in love with Kids club and still talks about it. Seaplane absolutely worth it to Dusit Thani it is very funny and amazing view.

We just stayed at the Dusit Thani for 6 days and had a phenomenal experience! From the greeting at the docks to the support getting us to the airport gate to depart the staff was incredible! This resort is the only one on the island and you ride bikes through lush landscape to get to the various restaurants, just spectacular! The restaurants are excellent with morning and evening buffets and a Thai restaurant which you can order ala carte .. with a light in the water at night you can see various sea creatures cruising by and one night we saw several sharks swimming beneath the pier! The food is outstanding and the staff is simply amazing! Props to Kaka, Atta, and Shahima for making us feel like family rather than guests- both my wife and I shed tears upon leaving as it felt like we were leaving our family Upon arrival we were introduced to our butler who handled any reservations we needed and made some wonderful suggestions about activities! We were cared for by Muhey and he was wonderful! The rooms are spacious and comfortable and you can just walk down the steps into the water to snorkel or enjoy your private pool on your back deck- just an amazing place! When we left by seaplane and having a 7 hour layover on Male we were invited to the Dusit lounge at the seaplane terminal and then they took us to the main airport and waited in line for us until the Emirates counter opened and helped us check in. I have never been cared for like this by any resort and I will never go anywhere but the Dusit Thani when returning to the Maldives. I’m still in awe of the incredibly caring staff and stunning facilities and I would give it a ten out of five if allowed!

This was our second visit to Dusit and it was all we hoped for and more. This is a world class resort hotel, in a beautiful island location, outstanding service true to it’s Thai roots, fantastic amenities, mouth watering food offering, natural beauty in and surrounding the island unbeatable team who genuinely care about guest satisfaction. We knew what to expect when returning but we’ve never considered returning to a hotel we’ve been before where we’ve had an amazing first time experience for the fear of ruining it should things not live up to it’s previous experience. We took the plunge nonetheless given we wanted to guarantee a great holiday and the gamble truly paid off. We spent 8 glorious nights and can happily say that yes, there’ll be a third time at some point in the future. Arrival and sea plane Perhaps it was our slightly early arrival, but we couldn’t see a Dusit rep at the arrival with any signs, having visited before and knowing what to do, we walked over to find the little booth and soon found the rep who quickly assisted us and took us to the waiting lounge for the sea plane. It was our first time experiencing the newly built sea plane lounge, and Dusit has its own lounge. As you’d expect, very clean and luxurious with light refreshments, coffee/ tea and soft drinks on offer. Good WiFi also available with shower and toilet facilities. Check in was also completed at the lounge avoiding the need for wasting even a few precious minutes in the island itself. Our hour or so wait for the sea plane went quickly. The hostess soon confirmed that it was time for our departure and we took a short walk down within the terminal to the waiting area, followed by the outdoor walk into the seaplane. Ahhh, the sight and sound of TMAs fleet, it’s the Maldives calling. Short 35-40 minutes flight and we are here!! It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces who would otherwise not be part of the welcome party at the arrival jetty wanting to make it special for us. Later we found out that upon knowing of our return, some of them had requested management time to be allowed to be there. This is an example of the personal touches which differentiates this resort from some of the others we’ve personally been to. Lots of hugs and smiles, we were soon reminiscing our first time with cold towels, a refreshing drink and a Lemmon grass scented welcome garland. Room We had booked and requested a beach villa as we preferred that side for the ease of snorkelling, villas as expected. The style of the room is a mix of Thai style with a Maldivian theme. Well appointed room with all of the expected amenities. Lovely welcome home message and bottle of bubbles. The outdoor shower as tropical as we’d remembered it. All of the toiletries you’d expect from a 5 star property was all in place. The resort is big on sustainability and it was nice to see evidence of it throughout including smarties in the room. Honestly the best holiday we have ever been on, from start to finish the Dusit team were seamless, exceptionally professional and made us feel like we were part of an island family, rather than just another tourist caught up in a profit driven machine. Starting with the Dusit rep at Male airport (so sorry I don't remember your name, we were so in awe of everything in front of us! ) the super elegant, comfy and well thought out seaplane lounge, the rep was so friendly and helpful, just a taste of what was to follow from the rest of the dusit family. The seaplane is an exceptional experience, would highly recommend it, just try to get on near the front of the que as the window seats go quick. We were met at the island by management and Staff who look after you for your stay, everyone has a smile and a few words to say...we were extremely lucky to have Saeed as our "butler" (we prefer to say friend) he was amazing, very helpful and super efficient within his role but also made our holiday extra special with his awesome sense of humour and again made us feel like part of the island family rather than just another tourist to please. Thank you so much Saeed, our holiday would have not been half as enjoyable without you, I hope the management appreciate you as much as we do! The Ocean villa room was out of this world, super comfortable bed, amazing bath and the deck/pool/steps down on to the reef was incredible, we spent so much time watching the fish/rays/sharks/dolphins/birds/sunsets/stars out on that deck, just couldn't get over the colours and exceptional beauty of the whole place. The housekeeping team were superb. The bikes to get around the island are great, the jungle is so natural and fantastic to explore, some fascinating wildlife. The staff who maintain the island are incredible, tirelessly working to keep everything in order and always have a smile on their faces. As it's lower season they are all working hard to replace the thatch on all the rooms, updating the air-conditioning and general upkeep on wooden walkways etc, you can tell that everyone puts their heart and soul in to their jobs, to give everyone the best experience they possibly can! The food is something else, can honestly say there is not one meal that we didn't enjoy, fantastically cooked, well seasoned and incredibly delicious food at all restaurants. The staff at the restaurants were all fantastic, but special mention to Mai and Majeed in the Market, Slyp and Rabeeu in the Sea Grill and Lasantha in the Sala bar who all took time to really talk to us, make great recommendations and provide exceptional service every single time we saw them, we miss you all! The spa...oh my word, what an incredible experience, honestly the most relaxed we have ever been! Ying and Duang provided an amazing massage experience, definitely recommended!
