Twiga Lodge and Campsite

The campingplaces are perfect, there are big cookingstations and the swimmingpool is nice. But the noice……..the gate is loud, the road next to it is busy and the bars around the campsite are playing loud music to very late in the night. A nice campingspot in the wrong place.

Cleanest showers and bathroom facilities I had on the entire trip. Hot water all the time, plenty of space in the shower to keep your things dry. Wi-Fi surprisingly good and the pool is a nice touch. Staff are friendly also It can be a bit loud at night seeing that it is located right on the main road

I stayed at Twiga on two separate stays in Sep 2022. My tour operator charged me $200 USD per night. For this price I had fairly high expectations, so I became fussy with the details. I was given one of their standard townhouse style rooms. The room was clean and the bed linen was fine I took a shower in the late afternoon and there was only a trickle of hot water. Not that I was there to watch TV but the TV was one of those old chunky CRT sets that I last saw 20 years ago. To watch involved unplugging the mini bar fridge, and viewing it through the mosqito net. The lodge has free WiFi but it only works near the bar area and not from the rooms. I did like central green space of lawn and trees as provides a calming, relaxing atmosphere. The bar man who served me exemplified the Tanzanian spirit of friendliness and warm-heartedness
