I find it hard to believe that people would complain about this place. It’s a superbly run business. It is very very well kept and clean. Georgia and her team are really hard working and do everything they can to make your stay as pleasant as possible. To address some of the negatives, Yes, the drinks around the pool are more expensive than the shop, of course they would be, the bar is normally open from 8am till 7pm and has to be staffed - they are not doing it for free, so of course they are going to charge more than the supermarket BUT you don’t have to drink or eat anything, you can go back to your room. Yes, the bar and pool area is open to the public, but we never once had an issue with getting a sun-bed - which by the way are the best we have ever had anywhere in the world. Our apartment was beautiful and the view overlooking the sea was such a wonderful spot to wake up to everyday. I would strongly suggest hiring a boat and seeing all the very pretty bays along the coast, and would also recommend jumping on the bus to Kassiopi for the day. buses are really cheap, taxis are pretty expensive, that’s because they don’t have local taxis in Babarti they have to come from the next village. It is a steep hill from the town, and up to the rooms so it wouldn’t be suitable for the less mobile. It is a peaceful and relaxing place, and a good base - particularly if you have a car. We stayed for 10 days and loved it - felt very safe, very comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed the cocktails made by Joanna

Great trip, we will be returning! My family of four stayed at this family-run, beautifully appointed apartment hotel in the peaceful and walkable little town of Barbati in Corfu. The owner Georgia and her staff are some of the most hospital people we have met on own travels. Olga is the fantastic cook and pool bar manager with a bright welcoming smile every morning of your stay. There is an attached super market at the base of the grounds for anything you may have forgotten or run out of or want from flip flops to toiletries to food goods including vacuum packed olives. Barbati is ideally situated for spending time with loved ones and exploring the island (if you like to party, the town of Ipsos may be better for you). We took our rental car (Holiday Car company) to neighboring towns/villages all between 10-40 minutes away (the town of Corfu is 40 minutes away). We explored the local beaches including Nisaki, the fishing town of Cassiope, the bay with yachts of Kalami (where James Bond’s For Your Eyes Only was filmed) and it’s famous White House of the Durrell family, and the Pantocrator monastery at an altitude of approximately 2,800 feet above sea level. A small car should be considered. The roads can be very narrow and Google maps is not always accurate. Remember that you will be on island time, as the expression goes. Relax and enjoy!

Already the booking via their website was very simple. Georgia organised a comfortable and reasonable transfer from and to the airport. On my arrival I experienced a very warm welcome. Georgia and her team succeded in offering a totally unconplicated but personal Service whenever needed. The property is spotless clean, the apartments are furnished contemporary with all comfort I desired. Last but not least: the views are fantastic and the surroundings very quiet - at least end of September. Enjoyed the week!

We were so excited to stay in Locana Luxury Apartments, however our holiday did not go as expected. Georgia was pleasant when we arrived and showed us to our room which was the studio apartment right next to the pool. The views were stunning and the apartment was clean. There is no privacy during the day from the balcony/patio area outside the door due to it being next to poolside and the public toilets are joined on to one side of the room, with the reception being joined on to the other side. We were extremely disappointed to find out that the pool and bar are NOT OF EXCLUSIVE USE to Locanda guests. This meant that people staying in nearby accommodation who did not have a pool were able to come and use ours. There were some lovely sun beds at the apartments but unfortunately we struggled to get one on a couple of occasions as it was very crowed. If the information about public use was listed on the providers website then we would not have chosen to stay here and pay £160 per night for a LUXURY stay. The description made it sound as though we were going to get a peaceful and relaxing holiday but this was not the case. We were told we were not able to consume our own food/drinks by the pool (even though it was all self catering with the exception of breakfast), however the food at the pool bar was below average and the drinks were more expensive than the bars in Barbati. We ended up leaving our holiday earlier due to safety concerns as numerous groups of men were following us either by foot or scooter on a night. There are no paths and the street lighting is lacking near the apartment so we just didn’t feel safe and left during the 3rd night. Overall we were just disappointed that we’d spent almost £1,200 for a 7 night stay in a luxury apartment that did not meet our expectations.

We had a blissful 3 nights at the Locanda following a stressful evening flight cancellation whilst we were actually at the airport. Georgia was our saviour when she accepted our 9.45pm booking and welcomed us in person to her gorgeous hotel an hour later and our stress melted away. The following morning we took in the amazing views whilst partaking of a lovely breakfast expertly prepared and served by Olga. The quality and choice was excellent and varied each day with some interesting and delicious dishes. The pool area and deeply cushioned sun beds were as luxurious as our room and we immediately settled in to our extended stay in Corfu whilst we awaited our rearranged flight home. Georgia delivers a truly personal touch as do the rest of her excellent team, we cannot recommend The Locanda more highly.

Nestled on the side of a steep hill is the Locanda aparthotel. This clean spacious modern property offers a great base to explore Corfu. The apartments are well designed and cleaned regularly and offer great sea and mountain views. The swimming pool and snack bar are well thought out and comfortable. The staff are happy to help. A walk to the beach is possible but all uphill on the way back, well worth the effort. Thanks Locanda
