Braeside is the perfect cosy couples escape within an easy drive from Melbourne. We were greeted by owner Andrew on arrival and helped to our cabin with our bags. Andrew is the perfect host: warm, friendly, gave us advice on places to visit and some to avoid and popped out to check we had enjoyed our stay when we departed. Our cabin was warm and cosy with plenty of firewood, fresh eggs, house made bread and everything we needed for a lovely weekend away. The cabin was nice and private with views across the property. Bed was comfy, cosy robes and lovely thick towels as well as good quality bathroom products. Thankyou Andrew for a wonderful break. We look forward to coming back again when time allows.

Braeside is the ideal accommodation venue to experience the magic of Mount Macedon. The setting is beautiful and Andrew is the consummate host. The cottages are cozy and intimate. A visit to Forest Glade is a must and Hanging Rock winery is worth visiting. I am looking forward to my next visit.

My husband and I went away to Braeside Mt Macedon Country Retreat and Bed & Breakfast again for our anniversary towards the end of September 2024. This was our 5th time we have been to Braeside and let me tell you it never fails to impress. We stayed in "The Cabin" for the 3rd time as it is so comfortable and welcoming. From the kitchen and bathroom windows you can see the alpacas "Sydney and Anzac" in their paddock. You can collect fresh eggs from "The Girls". Go for a walk around the beautiful garden and just relax and unwind. Do as much as you want to or as little around Mt Macedon and Woodend. Andrew, your host of Braeside knows what his guests want, peace, quiet and privacy, with a little home-made bread thrown in. We will be going back to Braeside again in 2025, we love it that much. Thank you Andrew and all your helpers who make Braeside what it is.

No words can justify the experience.. We did not want to leave. The serenity the wildlife the atmosphere .Andrew is an amazing host. Falling asleep to the sounds of crackling fire .waking up to birds and Sidney and Anzac alpacas at the window. The home made bread and Granola fresh hen laid eggs from the chickens its amazing. The food supplied is all local. Bed so cosy. We have to return. I totally recommend this place. Thankyou Andrew

Our stay at Braeside Mt Macedon Country Retreat was nothing short of magical. Nestled in the serene beauty of Mount Macedon, this retreat offers a perfect blend of luxury and nature. The cottages are cozy and well-equipped, providing all the comforts one could ask for. One of the highlights of my stay was waking up to the sight of alpacas grazing just outside our kitchen window. It was a delightful experience that added a unique charm to the retreat. The gardens are beautifully maintained, offering a peaceful environment to relax and unwind. Andrew’s hospitality truly sets this place apart. From the warm welcome to the thoughtful touches throughout our stay, Andrew ensured that every moment was special. The breakfast hampers were a treat, filled with delicious, locally-sourced goodies, and Andrew's home-made bread was definitely a highlight! If you’re looking for a tranquil escape with outstanding service and a touch of nature, Braeside Mt Macedon is the perfect choice. We can’t wait to return!

Andrew made the stay exceptional. He greeted us the minute we arrived, gave great suggestions for what to do and was very generous in the breakfast he provided. Homemade bread, homemade quince jam, homemade granola, fresh milk and eggs from his cooks were lovely and he was quick to top up when we ran low. Feeding his gentle alpacas was also a novel experience for us. The grounds was not blooming with flowers because it was winter but it is still lovely to sit in the garden and watch the crimson rosea, kookaburra and cockatoos. The fog surrounding the grounds was lovely too. An exceptional stay

We arrived after dark and found Andrew welcoming us once we got off our car. He helped with our luggage, showed us around the Barn, explained how everything worked. He had freshly baked bread, eggs, butter, bacon, juices, milk etc, all ready for our breakfasts for the next 3 days. The platter and the red wine we requested were there for our dinner. He gave great tips on where to visit which we followed the next day and had a wonderful time exploring the region. We took great photos and videos of the pet lamas, wild ducks, kangaroos, the garden and the beautiful Barn before we left. Thank you Andrew, for this most amazing Autumn stay at Braeside.

If you could dream of what a location would look like in the country for your elopement wedding this is it. Braeside is the most beautiful place. We recently stayed a few nights and married under the canopy of a huge oak tree in the garden. Andrew is by far the most amazing host of anywhere we have every stayed. The level of detail, care and consideration for all our needs was incredible.... and he's just a great guy! We stayed in The Barn - a gorgeous experience. We will absolutely be back in years to come.

My two night stay at Braeside Mt Macedon was excellent in a peaceful beautiful environment. The hospitality and care was second to none. The supply of great quality breakfast supplies which included delicious home baked bread, eggs, granola, jam and bacon. Bedding was of a high quality and the interior of the cottage was clean and tidy. I would definitely consider staying at Braeside again if the opportunity arises. Highly recommend.
