I booked a family room for 4 nights. The location is right at the Village Sq where you can get food, ski rentals and stuff. Located within the same complex you have access to the Village Bistro on the ground floor and restaurant on the second. On paper, its a real good location but for skiers i think it is much better to stay a little higher at Abom or Ski Club Victoria because that is where the ski school is located. Since lockers do not overnight rentals, staying here means you’ll need to walk up the slope and stairs to the ski school with your ski boots.. a painful experience. However, if you already know how to ski, the hotel is only 30m away from Bourke St Express chairlift. Now let’s talk about the hotel. The first, and probably last person you’ll talk to is Stuart who manages everything. He is a lovely and helpful man, the reason i did not score them as a 3. Because he is a one way show, it will be better if you let them know your ETA as he may sometimes not be around. The family room as many mentioned is very basic. As international travellers we have so much baggage but there was simply no room. There were only 4 hook clothe rack, thats about it. So, i had to push my luggages under the bunk bed. As there were 3 of us, we could use the space on the top bed. While the room was basic (only a kettle and cups), the room was very clean and I appreciated that. On top of it, the best part is the dryer room and ski room to store our ski equipment and apparel. Our gloves and jackets were soaked from a wet day but an overnight in the dry room, voila! Dry and ready for the next day. Is it expensive? yes it is but so are the other onsite accommodations. Try searching for a 2 bedroom , the prices are ridiculous. The alternative is to stay offsite and transport yourself to the slopes everyday.
