We have just returned from our fourth visit to Hotel Champs Fleuris and again had a brilliant stay. As many have commented the hotel is in a prime location right next to the main Pleney gondola. Whilst you can't ski straight from the door it is only a few metres walk to be at the lift and then up to the centre of the ski area and ski school meeting point. Snow permitting it is possible to ski right back to the hotel - either down the blue detour des Nants or Piste B runs or the red le Stade. If you want to ski in Avoriaz the "train" to the Super Morzine bubble leaves from pretty much outside the hotel or the bus to the Prodains Express is only a few more metres walk. You can also walk to the Super Morzine if you want to - its not that far really but feels it in ski boots! Guests are allocated a ski locker in the hotel which is really useful. Whilst the room is small we never had difficulty in getting into our boots without being in the way of others. This year we had two rooms (415 and 416) which were behind another locking door which was great as we effectively had a two bedroom suite. The rooms are very comfortable with plenty of storage space. Each room had a Nespresso machine and we were given two capsules each day which was fine for our needs. The bathrooms were ok but the showers were brilliant, particularly after a day on the slopes with powerful hot water. Downstairs the bar area is comfortable, warm and relaxing and cake and croissants/pain au chocolat are served from about 4pm until 6pm each day. The bar is well stocked and service is prompt from the friendly staff. The food is superb and we looked forward to both breakfast and dinner each day. Breakfast starts at 7:30am (although is available earlier on big departure days) and there is plenty of choice including fruit, cold meats, cheese, croissants, pain au chocolat, wonderful breads and jams to hot eggs, bacon and sausages. Dinner begins at 7:15pm and starts with a buffet which depending on the day includes salads, meats, fish, shellfish as well as themed hot options. To be honest the buffet alone would have probably filled us up. However after that there was a selection of three main courses each evening plus a children's option (which they were happy to serve a large portion of to our 15 year old). After the main course a wide selection of cheeses was available and then finally a daily dessert. If you don't want dessert of the the day then they have ice cream, chocolate mousse and creme brûlée available most nights as well. The wine list is extensive and being the only person wanting wine they were happy to keep an open bottle for future nights. The service provided by everyone was absolutely superb. All spoke good English but equally were happy for us to practice our French. We would highly recommend this hotel and combined with the skiing available and the short transfer from Geneva there really is not much to fault.
