Fergus Cactus Garden

This hotel is well run and managed. The staff are hard working and friendly. Maintenance keeps the place looking sharp. Rooms with side sea view are quite large, lovely bathroom and the balcony was roomy with chairs and a table. Room 802 top floor was nice to sit out and get some sun, modern and clean. We stayed half board plus, well worth it, drinks with meals are included and plentiful. The food was varied with plenty of choices if you are prepared to be adventurous and try something different. Fish or meat cooked in batches at the buffet so could have it piping hot if timed right. Microwave to heat up your veg if you need it piping! Plentiful salad choices too if preferred. Hubby wasn't enamoured with the food but he's very fussy didn't go hungry tho! Location of hotel excellent for things to do during day and cafes/restaurants/shops/supermarkets all very close.

Just came back yesterday . when we checked in the staff member was great ( not like some negative feedback from others ) she was so helpful , friendly , informative and went through details well . as we missed dinner time she said to settle in the room and have a drink and there will be a cold buffet avaible in an hour . as this was me and my wife's 30th anniversary our children booked this holiday and informed the hotel who gave a a bottle of bubbly and a upgrade on the room . the room was great , clean , spacious, balcony wirh view of beach and sea . the bathroom was a good size and the rooms were cleaned daily . only had a small issue where the AC was not working properly within 30 mins a maintenence guy was there and resolved it but it did stop working a couple a of days before leaving but we use to leave the balcony door open which let in a lovely breeze . facilities wise it was great beach is less than 4 mins walk across the road , the pool was a decent size and had a separate kids pool , lounger were available but filled up quickly but with the beach minutes away we always went there . all inclusive on drinks is limited to certain drinks and cocktails but a good choice , the roof top bar is great but you have yo pay for drinks , level 6 has a jacuzzi there which was good and had a good area for sunbathing which we used , there's a decent gym available and spa and massage place but we didn't use that. Food was good with a decent choice of mains , salads , breads , desserts, sides . changed daily and had themed nights . liked the idea of the veggie station for vegetarians which was good . they have daily meat / fish stations. must say watch out for the doner kebab as it was fantastic in flavour and one of the best I had . finally the staff they were all fantastic always acknowledged you from the maintenence, kitchen , spa , bar staff , restaurant staff and cleaners and reception . The service was great nothing was to much to ask and done within 30 mins. one of the best hotels I've been to and makes the customer enjoy there stay . keep up the great work team Fergus and most definitely I will be back and a must recommendation.

One of my best holidays...thanks to a really great staff...Jose Angel...Gustavo..Leni..all around me so kind and professional smiling all the time! The best cocktails and the best service!!!

We had a nice holiday despite the shortcomings of the hotel which has so much potential. Definitely not 4* Best bits… Entertainment was really good. Three live singing acts during our 7 night stay & all were excellent. Leni the animation guy was brilliant - funny, friendly & so hardworking. Location is excellent. Short walk to beach. Some nice beach bars. And minutes from shops and bars. Ok bits… Food was tasty but limited choice, hot food was poorly presented so didn’t look appealing & cheap cuts of meat - pork, chicken drumsticks. Great range of salad & always found something we enjoyed. Restaurant was pleasant though & clean. Drink quality was ok - Spanish spirits unless you paid up upgrade. We bought branded spirits from supermarket & used hotels mixers. Beer & cava was ok. Pool & sunbeds were good. Sunbed availability was great. No early morning rush. Pool is very small & was busy but small raised terrace was ideal as a bit quieter. Parasols poor quality. 6th floor sun terrace was great but no shade & umbrellas not allowed due to wind! Ideal in winter season but not in 30+ degrees heat. Could do with some fixed shade up there. Worst bits Cleanliness - The whole hotel needs a really good clean. It felt tired, tatty & grubby in bar area, pool terrace. Dirty tables by pool. Didn’t see it being washed once during our 7 day stay. Dirty grout/sealant in our shower, grubby floor. Damp / drain smell in room. Felt it needed a bottle of bleach ‘ a really good scrub to sort of out. Room had a great sea / lighthouse view but shower was poor & beds not really comfortable. In summary although we had a good time if we’d paid any more than we did we’d have been very disappointed. It wouldn’t take a lot to make it better just some quality checking from management and a bit of TLC! So unless it improves not sure we’d return as much better hotels nearby for just a slightly higher price. day so lo

It’s my second time staying here . Hotel has a great location and is very affordable for few days away . Rooms depending on the floor where you stay can feel a bit humid , but they are clean and comfortable. Food is ok , Something to choose from for everyone . I mostly have good experiences with the staff of the hotel - especially Jose who’s making exceptional cocktails , he’s really friendly and professional and I always had very lovely chats with him, his was putting the most incredible decorations on cocktails , thank you Jose 🩷🩷🩷. Shout out also to Leni - the host , keeping hotel energized and making you smile every time you met him . Aron , the lifeguard was also really amazing , he helps a lot around the bar and he’s spreading good vibe around the pool. Last but not least - Patricia ! Thank you for being so attentive and helpful , highly remarkable attitude. To sum up everything- nice hotel at fair price that allows you to get to the city in walking distance and very friendly staff that makes you feel very welcomed . Will come back when I decide to visit Fuerteventura again!

We will not go back, we had two single beds which keep going apart, not sure why we had two single beds put together, food was average, service was average, entertainment was good sadly they don’t provide a gluten free menu only bread roll when you asked for it. The beach is lovely and great bars and restaurants around plus designer shopping for the ones who love a label.
