Poor quality of Hotel all inclusive,there’s to many people smoking in everywhere,they may have (non smoking signs) ,the variety of food is not so good

Cuba is our go to place to get our vitamin D, relax, and physically and mentally recover for busy life. It feels like unique hidden gems Sol Cayo CoCo resort in Cuba. Small (maybe 250 rooms), quiet beach and just a short drive from the airport(around 15 mins). The rooms are nice newly renovated, the beautiful beach has brand new loungers, and there's even have a great fishing places nearby. If you like the feeling of a cozy cottage by the beautiful beach rather than a huge, crowed resort, perfect for those seeking a quiet place and you'll love it here. Overall,Sol Cayo CoCo gave us a relaxing and friendly vacation. I want to thank the hard working staff who made our stay memorable, Lia, Yordais, Yordanka and many more whose names I can't remember, but whose kindness I won't forget.

arrived on 22/06/05 to find rust spot it the bath informed thomas cook rep said she would get us moved but never got back to us . first time we used the pool my six yr old son was playing with the bare wires of where a light fitting used to be inside the pool tiles missing on the pool floor and bottom was dirty not once sore anybody cleaning the pool in 2 weeks of our stay . we all went down with severe sickness and tummy upset son rushed to hospital in ambulance had several blood tests and injections to confirm servere stomach infection lots of other guest went down with same thing due to the very poor hygiene at this hotel. major building works going on in part of the hotel and yes you guessed it our room was right over the top of it .leak in the room ceiling went all over my clothes in the wardrobe causing the dye to run and ruining several items rooms cleaned very late in the day and things going missing from our room eg. clothes shampoo shower gel etc. maid used shower gel to clean the floors not one spot of bleach or clean sheets sean in 2 weeks .service and food in resteraunts very poor tablecloths filthy always had to hunt for your own cutlery place totally infested with mosquitos has to be fumigated morning and night would never stay at sol cayo coco again this is no way a 4 star hotel . do your self a favour if you are planning a trip to this hotel make sure you change your hotel cuba is a beautiful place but this place does it no favours . we called a meeting there with senior thomas cook rep which some 50 guest turned up to with the same complaints thomas cook are fully aware of the problems there and they will be receiveng a letter from me very shortly only got back on 8/07/05 and just got rid of my bad tummy upset . i am never one to complain i felt i had to leave this feedback for this resort as everybody works hard for their holidays and i wouldnt want people to be so disappointed as we were

A very disappointing holiday. There is no way this hotel is a 4 star. Nearer to a two star. Apart from one or two members of staff the majority only seemed interested in serving the holiday makers who tipped them regularly. And there is a definite change in attitude from staff members when they realise the end of your holiday is nearing and you maybe passing out tips etc at the end of your stay. Some staff who had been rude became like different people when they realised our departure date was nearing. And the service in the lobby bar is possibly the worst I've ever experienced. The food was adequate, however after two weeks of seeing the same options day after day you can't wait to leave. Apparently the main buffet had a different 'theme' each night. One of the most entertaining things on this holiday is to try and guess what the theme is from looking at the food on offer. The lobby bar is hot, sticky and mosiquito-ridden. We were all bitten extensively, and repellant doesn't seem to work. The rooms are of a good size, but have a shabby, faded feel. And we were in one of the recently renovated ones! (Ours also smelt of damp, but we were lucky and didn't get flooded like some did in the rain storms. However we weren't left out as the rain ran into the main buffet through the light fittings) We were consistantly not left enough water each day, and despite complaining several times to the Thomas Cook reps and to customer services nothing was done. The reps seem to be particurlary useless at this hotel, with one in particular clearly not interested in how your holiday is going, or trying to do anything helpful at all. In summary do not go to the Sol Cayo Coco if you want a good holiday.

stayed at the sol cayo coco from the 19th may for two weeks and was that the longest two weeks of our lives,this is a very dirty smelly and run down hotel that in no way deserves 4*.After three days our rooms were flooded out, there was food left on the stairs for five days, dirty linen on our beds, very unfriendly staff, not enough staff serving at the bars, no air con in the dining room,cold food getting served,waited 20mins for a piece of turkey breast,on a morning very slow cooking bacon and eggs waited around 20 mins,only one toster for the whole hotel.And then to top it all if you wanted to lay by the pool, get up early to get your towel out around seven and wait for the music to start.This is only the tip of the iceberg, this hotel should come with a health warning,so be warned stay away

17 of us stayed at the sol cayo coco hotel from 15th June - 29th June! The food was always the same, sometimes it was not cooked properly, the entertainment was average- there was none if it rained which was most nights while we were there except a room with music til two in the morning! Everyone was getting bitten, we thought it was mosquitos to begin with but discovered when we got home that it was bed bugs! My 1year old was bitten at least twice a night both bite marks were in a straight line which is how the bugs work. My dad got badly bitten too, at least 50 times a night i believe! Now that we are home I know we brought more than just souvenirs back with us as my son is still getting bit, every morning he has new tiny black scabs on his neck, face and hands! After researching bed bugs and realising this is one of the symptoms I will have to get pest control in! I will be putting in a complaint to Thomas cook and if I get a bill for the pest control and have to replace any of my furniture I will be expecting Thomas cook to pay for it!! This resort was very poor for the money and I will not be back!!

“NOTE TO SELF” DON’T GO BACK TO! Sol Cayo Coco. October 12-19, 2012. We have taken many trips to Cuba and this has been the worst trip we have had to Cuba. Check in was good. We went to our room and found the safe didn’t work. We also had no air conditioning. We went to customer service and they got us another room. Great view from the balcony. We weren’t so taken with all the little bugs in the bathroom and in the beds. The beds were very uncomfortable. The food was nothing to rave about either. I must say the pasta corner was the best.( We send a big Hello to Tasmary, she was our breakfast server). A lot of repeated food from lunch to dinner. Same old, same old. We love Cuban food, but not here. No air in the buffet or lobby. Very, very hot for eating or lounging. The lobby washroom was almost always out of toilet paper and hand soap. On several occasions I caught staff coming out of the washroom not wash their hands and then see them serving drinks 5 mins later. (GROSS). The washroom by the pool had no hand soap or paper towels all week. All the employees and visitors using this bathroom left with dirty hands. Eweee! A few days the beach bar didn’t have beer. They kept saying not working. The beach was very nice. Most days the seaweed was cleaned up. There were always lots of loungers both at the beach and the pool. The pool was always nice and clean. A big Thanks to Orlando at the pool bar. Awesome drinks. We give this resort 2 Cuban stars.
