Pandanus Mooloolaba

We love Pandanus. We have stayed there regularly over the last 8 years or so, staying in 3 bedroom appt or the penthouse with 4 bedrooms twice, once 8 yrs ago and just recently. Its location to the beach, cafes, restaurants, shops, gelato etc is perfect. Unfortunately a high rise parking building was built by the local council right next to pandanus which unfortunately blocked its delicious views of the water. But these are the positives. Now the negatives. We stayed in the penthouse for our family of ten. it suited us space wise very well, even had roll away beds for the 10 & 9 yr old. They loved the pool and spa and gym too. However, the biggest disappointment was how dirty the apt was. We all were convinced that it had not been cleaned at all, simply new bedding and towels put out. The hard wood floors were so dusty and dirty the kids feet were filthy. One room had a pile of saw dust in the sliding door jam of its room. The pillows on the couch were so old they were shredded and torn. How hard is it for owners to buy new pillows. really. We stayed there 8 yrs ago and looked back at the photos and saw the furniture down to the artwork on the walls were still the same. The penthouse is so tired and worn out it is obvious the owners have no interest in taking care of their property but just collecting revenue. We I mentioned to manager that the property was very tired and in desperate need of an upgrade he said the 3 bedroom arts had all been upgraded and our cost reflected the tiredness of the apt. I wish he had told me before I booked and paid over $2000 for 5 nights, perhaps I would have reconsidered as our family prefers cleanliness for sure. The manager sent this email to us on check in, and I quote from it here, "We hope you enjoyed your stay so far. If you need any assistance or anything is not up to your standard, please come by reception and let us know. We will do our best to make your stay better." So on that advice my husband had a chat with the manager. His response about the dirtiness of the apt was, "Oh that's too bad". Not I will send in a cleaner to rectify it. The apt also was supplied with an old electric frying pan we were going to use for dinner as we could not get the oven to work. Unfortunately the plug that was supplied with it was square, needing to go into a round hole. When my husband mentioned this to the manager he responded, "Oh that's interesting." Definitely not I'll send up one that works. My husband took out the vacuum cleaner supplied in the apt to vacuum all the long hairs we discovered on the couch and floors. The vacuum was full, and had little suction to do the job. Very cheap version I guess. Again this was mentioned to the manager whose comment was. "Oh the owners must have left it full". Perhaps the manager needs to go to hospitality school. But in his defence he is working with owners who care very little about their property or the comfort of their guests. My recommendation is to book the 3 bedroom

This was a return visit for us after a good number of years. The apt we stayed in had been beautifully upgraded and was very lovely in decor and comfort. The kitchen was totally decked out with most appliances and utensils that a good cook needs, a rarity in so many rental apts these days. Pandanus apts are extremely spacious and roomy which is one of the reasons we keep going back. The manager was great when we needed some things attended too such as a replacement key and lightbulb change. They were polite and very helpful. The location to Mooloolaba is perfect which is another reason for us to go back. However, one negative which of course is not their fault was the local council built an 8 story carpark right next to the complex. Needless to the say the gorgeous views of sea and sand we had from year to year in the past is now gone with only a few glimpses. This was indeed disappointing for us. One of our favourite things is to sit on the deck, and it is a glorious one. Sunsets to appreciate very easily. However being winter and extremely cold we persevered outside to enjoy the sunset, but it would have been a lovely touch for the owners to supply a deck heater for those wintry sunsets. My husband left his expensive apple earbuds behind and we appreciated the honesty of the cleaner who turned them over to the manager to give back to us. The only negative to this was the cost of return. I told the manager we were happy to have them posted and I would direct debit the money to them for postage. They indicated they would charge the cc I had used to pay for the stay. This was fine but when I got the bill it was double the cost of postage. Apparently they charged for postage as well as a service charge to walk to the post office which was a block away. Had they initially told me this would be the case I would have had a friend collect them for me. Oh well, hopefully they will communicate this to other guests in future so there are no surprises. Otherwise it is a super place.

Stayed 3 nights , apartment was amazing. So big and very clean and had everything that we needed. The balconies at each end of the apartment were a bonus and would be great if there was a group of you staying as you wouldn't be in each others pockets all the time. There is a pool and spa but we didn't get around to using them although my husband did use the gym. Only a short walk to the Esplanade where there are plenty of cafes and shops. Perfect for us. Will definitely look to book again if we return to Mooloolaba

We had an apartment on the fourth floor - very large room - 3 bedrooms. One king bed room with en-suite, second room was also made up as a king bed and third room was bunk beds. Ideal for family and friends. Two balconies - one at either end. The apartment was very clean, had all the amenities that you would need. Only a short walk to the esplanade and beaches. Two car-parking spaces were provided for this apartment. Nice pool (small lap pool) and a spa. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay which was only supposed to be for two nights but we were able to stay an extra night. The reception staff were very helpful. Would highly recommend and will stay there again.

This is one of the largest Apartments I have every stayed in! With 3 large bedrooms, an ensuite, guest bathroom and extra toilet in laundry it was perfect for 3 couples. Very large, well equipped kitchen and enormous lounge/dining area. Plenty of balcony space at both ends of the Apartment as well. Only a short walk to Esplanade, Beach, Coles and Wharf area means you can leave the car in the garage. Lovely pool and spa and very friendly managers. Would happily stay here again and I'm very fussy!!

Such a spacious apartment, great size kitchen and fridge for a family equiped with everything everything needed for our stay. Bed rooms were spacious as well and it was great there was ducted aircon to keep everyone cool at night. Love that there were two large balconies at both ends of the apartment. We dealt with Rhea there and she was so helpful with everything. The location is excellent l being just behind the main esplanade we were able to cut through any of the arcades in few minutes to reach beach shops and restaurants with only a 5min walk to the wharf where there are great restaurants. Coles was walking distance too which was very handy to pop into after a morning walk to grab family fresh bread for breakfast. We loved our stay so much we booked again for our next family holiday. Highly recommend.
