Milbrooks Villa and Retreat

DONT BOOK HERE! What a frustrating experience. We rented Richard’s villa (Milbrooks) for a 7 night event. This was our second year here. But first year we were completely sold out and had all of the rooms filled with guests. First, he sold us a maids quarter and told me it was part of the villa. ( it was completely separated from the rest of the house and you had to drive down his very long driveway and then enter through a private door. And there was no way for our guest to leave their room and join us without walking around the entire property.) Water pressure is not adequate for the amount of rooms, most people had no water coming out of their showers and faucets. Toilets broke constantly. And when you needed a butler to help, No one was ever around. The communal bathroom in the dining room area’s water was always shut off, so our guests weren’t able to use those when their toilets weren’t working. The villa is in serious disrepair!! Shower doors missing. Exposed screws. Locks on doors and balconies not working, safes not work. People kept getting locked out on their balconies because the knobs would be broken on the outside. The electricity went out a few times and he had no back up generators. Ac were turned off durning the day. And not turned back on for our return ( this was a problem because some guests controls for the ac were not in their room) He advertises multiple kitchens, but he only has one tiny oven that works in the entire villa and it’s not in the main house where all the guests stay. It was very difficult for the chef to prepare our meals for 20 people . He advertise enough seating, but there are only 16 chairs around his big dining room table and we were a total of 21 people. No chairs on any of the balconies and only 5 lounge chairs by the pool. Again, we we’re confirmed for 21 people. On our second to last day, when most of my guests had left, had some items go missing when (I’m guessing) the staff thought we had all left. Me and my personal staff had the entire villa for another day and night. When I mentioned we were missing some things, could he ask his staff if they’ve seen these items, he accused my guests of stealing them. He was not concerned with any of our other issues and very confrontational. And because of all of these issues we won’t be back.
