If you’re looking for a nice beach this is not the place for you! Beach bottom is gross, full of sea**** and slimy/muddy bottom. Visited about 6years ago, they have remodeled. Not a fan of the new pools, food has gone downhill. Entertainment is the same for all Riu hotels and becomes boring.

Proximity to the airport was great. Jamaican Tours provided excellent transport a reasonable rate. The hotel staff were very friendly and the hotel itself was clean well kept.

The property was a 5-6 minutes drive from the airport which was ideal. Check in was swift except we had to as other visitors for directions to find our room. We enjoyed the different food choices at the buffet, although there should be a station available after dinner 11pm -2pm to snack on. Jody our transportation rep was superb.

The music is too loud at night. If you don’t plan on partying until 3 am and want to sleep, do not stay in the building where the reception desk and club is. I think they should ask if you are there to relax or party all night

If airplane noise bothers you this is not your location. For us it was not a big deal. The staff, cleanliness location off set any negative from plane noise.

This was our second visit to this property and I’m sure we’ll be back. Food, staff, accommodations, everything was excellent.

Having experience with other all-inclusive resorts, RUI Montego Bay falls as the bottom of our list. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with eye rolls by the front desk for asking simple questions, like we should already know things and it was an inconvenience to them. We arrived early, so we expected to wait a while for checkin. We were allowed to eat lunch at the buffet, however, asking if we could was met with yet another eye roll. Asking direction to where the restaurant was met with a finger point, no eye contact, and continued rudeness. Maybe a tip was expected?
Trying to book a reservation in any of the dinner restaurants was impossible, as everything is already booked full for the week by the time you arrive, and you can’t reserve anything ahead of time. We spoke with a manager on how to rectify this, told they would find a solution and get back to us. Followed up several times, and eventually the manager left for the evening with no solution provided. This became an on-going issue for our entire stay, and was the same situation for almost every other guest that we talked to.
6:30pm evening of checkin, still no bags delivered to our room after calling twice, being told they were on the way. I walked down and got them myself, and they were still sitting in the exact same place we left them at checkin.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner at the buffet was great every time.
Sailing: not free, need license to sail.
Resort is fun and clean, but unhelpful rude staff.

Second time being to this property this time not near as good!! Making reservations for dinner was difficult Checking out, nickel and dime people for extra money!! we were fine but a guy lost his towel card and charged him $20 would rate the resort a C
