Went here for a VIP tour. The tour start with a lunch in their taverna. The food was amazing. We had a full four course meal with a "cheese ball" starter, pasta as prima and veal as secondi with icrecream for desert. We have a great sampling of the vines from Banfi with the meal and great service. After the meal we went on a tour of the Banfi winery and ended up with a tasting. Our guide Paul did a fantastic job. This is a major brunello provider that goes back to 15th century with beautiful views. We loved the experience.

Magical experience to have a life celebration in a beautiful castle. Celebrated my 60th birthday here and had dined at their Michelin star restaurant. Manuel (server) and Cristiano (wine sommelier) made our experience beyond memorable. Staying on the property was very special and will definitely be returning for another life celebration. Grazie!!

For Avid fans of Brunello di Montalcino, Banfi needs no introduction. Driving from Rome it was easy to find. But the welcome and the attention to detail we got at Poggio Alle Mura was first class. The premier room we had in this boutique hotel was wonderful. Spotless, relaxing, quiet and with two enormous bathrooms. The Michelin starred restaurant I will write a separate review for. The staff were all wonderful. Local Italians were supported by some notably great Portugese colleagues. Everyone who worked there were excellent and this was a truly truly first class and relaxing experience. The wine tour was very interesting, the Taverna had great food, and the very knowledgeable Lisa, taught me that a British person can be an expert in wine AND speak perfect, fluent Italian. This lady was as inspirational as the setting, the team, the welcome the food and the wine- all wonderful. Thank you I will be back next year.

Beautiful property in stunning setting. Restaurants and wine/vineyards were great. Staff were warm, friendly and attentive.

This is such a wonderful and unique place to stay! The staff is top notch, the food and service were incredible (I see how they have a Michelin star!), and so special to stay in this castle.

Just wow. We made a last minute booking for one night and boy was it a treat (we were last here 7 years ago)! The beds are so comfortable, the rooms so well appointed with luxurious amenities, the breakfast is perfect, the wine tasting is a treat, and the vineyards a beautiful and worth wandering through. We did eat at the Michelin star restaurant which was exceptional and reviewed separately. All in all always a joy!

Castello Banfi is on a hill top location with wonderful views 360c of Tuscany. We stayed in a larger suite. It was spotlessly clean and charming. Decorated traditionally and the bed especially was extremely comfortable and clean. Both restaurant experiences were excellent, we loved the Michelin starred restaurant especially, which was outstanding! As a vegetarian I really appreciated the menu included many wonderful options. And may I say reasonable value too for the quality. I would return just for that experience. It was very romantic too as night fell, and the stars twinkled as far as the eye could see and the castle looked majestic in moonlight. The setting is just sublime, and so is the restaurant service. The hotel falls short around the pool area. Cushioned pads are needed for the sun beds and pool service should be offered. It was quite basic but adequate. The pool itself however was a gorgeous temperature and very relaxing as it is so quiet and tranquil. We slept extremely well, and the power shower was great despite the bathroom amenities being quite basic (hotel own brand). We felt very comfortable and enjoyed our stay overall, a great place to recover your energy if you are touring Italy.

It has always been a dream of mine to stay at Castello Banfi, since I love wine and have always been a fan of Brunello di Montalcino. The view from the castle to the Tuscan mountains is breathtaking, the room is like an apartment, it is so big, the staff treats you as if you were in a real castle, the breakfast is very tasty, all the staff are very helpful and friendly. The Sala Dei Grapoli Restaurant is a mix of flavors, totally deserving of the Michelin star. A dream come true!
