Alkinoi Resort & Spa

What a wonderful trip we had in Monemvasia! It all started with our stay at Alkinoi Resort & Spa. Giannis and his entire staff made the extra effort to make our stay for 8 nights a very relaxing and pleasurable one. We were welcomed like family and the resort was beautiful with an amazing view, pool, nice rooms and great facilities. If I am ever back in Monemvasia I will be staying at the Alkinoi. No need to look anywhere else! Thank you Giannis and team for helping to make our vacation to Greece a memorable one.

Excellent food and good wine list with excellent Greek wines . We arrived late and it was still possible to dine (without reservation) . The service was professional and friendly. Good atmosphere, cosy environment and a nice terrace. We go back!

This is a great place to relax. The hotel provides 5star superior service and if you don’t see it, ask. Spectacular views pool side. Delightful food. This was so nice, I hated to leave. It is also close to both new town and the old town at the top of the hill.

Hotel Alkinoi Resort & Spa Monemvasia A brand new hotel which we understand opened this season (which might explain some of the teething problems) The positives are the outstanding views towards Monemvasia and the beautiful large (warm!) saltwater swimming pool and the terrace/garden. Breakfast was also excellent, a buffet with a wide choice of food on a delightful terrace - and the bar snacks were good; (there’s no restaurant facility) There’s plenty of parking (although taxis to the castle cost only about €5 and save a long hot walk up the road!) The rooms have tea and coffee making facilities, somewhat limited “freebies” in the bathroom and robes But although the staff tried very hard, the hotel wasn’t without its faults. It’s situated on the main road into town which generates some noise. A number of rooms have no sea view - the main feature of the site. On arrival, we were offered a junior suite (an upgrade from the superior room we’d booked) but we were disappointed to find it consisted of a small bedroom with no view and only a “false” window opening on to a corridor used by others (so no privacy if the window was open) and an adjoining small sitting room leading to a small terrace. If you strained your head around the corner there was a view of the sea - but it was too hot to sit outside anyway largely because the terrace also sited 2 large air conditioning units which discharged hot air! Another problem was that it proved impossible to connect to the wifi from our room. It was suggested this was because we had Mac devices which were incompatible with the system. (In fact we had Iphones and Ipads which were capable of connecting to the wifi in other parts of the hotel so it was clearly our room which was the problem) The bathroom was spacious and well appointed but with a window opening onto the same corridor We were offered complimentary 30 minute massages in the Spa which were ok although the organisation seemed a little chaotic So all in all, we were left a little underwhelmed with the experience, particularly given the cost was relatively higher than we were paying elsewhere. Hopefully the service issues can be resolved - but this still leaves other issues which unfortunately can’t be changed. Would we return? Possibly - but only uf we could be guaranteed sea view and working wifi

Beautiful hotel & Spa offering spacious and clean rooms with breathtaking views of Monemvasia. Rooms were clean and newly remodelled, the grounds were well maintained, breakfast included was a good addition... freshly sqeeezed O.J. was awesome !

Modern structure with an amazing view on Monemvasia and a beautiful pool. Spacious room with pleasant and practical balcony. Top wifi everywhere and really helpful management in any circumstance. Very good breakfast with a great choice, excellent fresh fruit and an assortment of nuts, tahini, white and wholemeal bread, etc. Only 5 minutes by car to the castle and to a variety of restaurants.
