Sani Stone Lodge

Rustic and peace of mind with only nature and majestic mountains. Friendly staff was willing to help in any way. Meal and rinks basic but very tasty and above standard if you look at the location.

We booked for 5 people, and we had a very bad experience. 1) The link on your mail stop in the middle of nowhere on the A1 and does not lead to your property nor the entrance and we struggled to get anyone on the phone. 2) The staff did not even know we were coming thus they were unprepared for our arrival. We did an online booking and paid in full. 3) The first unit we received had no water at first and when the water was opened the water sprayed all over in the bathroom due to a burst pipe within the geyser. 4) There were not enough nor adequate wood to start the fireplace to heat up the unit as the staff were not expecting us. 5) The second unit's toilet did not get water thus we had to fill it ourselves with buckets of water. We were just too tired to move to another unit again. 6) The food that were prepared was chicken breast and chips. The chicken was as dry as paper and all the food were ice cold when we received it. The chef/waiter did not even ask whether it should be barbeque or spicy or not. It was so spicy that our children nor my wife could even eat it. At R180.00 per meal this was ridiculous. We waited too long for them to prepare the food and were just too tired to bother to complain about it... I think that the staff were very friendly, but I do not think that they even received any training on what to do in their appointed positions.

We had a wonderful stay at Sani Stone Lodge. Vast open spaces, unspoilt nature, wonderful birding and great facilities in the double rooms! The staff were so friendly and helpful and really professional.

Very cosy , excess 4x4 only,bring your own lighting generator goes off at 1930 , shower in the evening, pipes freeze at night (no water) fill buckets ( supplied ) with water to flush toilets when the pipes are frozen staff very friendly

Camping would be a much better option!! No water, breakfast p/person @ M120, for getting cold scrambled eggs, vienna, baked beans and 4 slices of bread, with no margarine and cold tea - no milk. Access road very very poor. Not to be recommended at all. Rather camp or use Masoba Lodge/Sani Top Chalets - don't waste your money on this place!!

View was great, manager was adorable. But the rondavel was very expensive for what you get. No warm water, and during the day no water at all. And no electricity until 18.30 and only until 21.30. The fire place was cosy. But the cook is really bad. Ask if you can cook your selves if you have brought any food.
