Ndlovu Safari Lodge

The attention to detail and comfort was exceptional, the lodge is beautiful, the rooms are unbelievably comfortable, pristine, beautiful and the touches appreciated. These things don’t happen without plenty of effort behind the scenes. The staff are warm, friendly and go that extra mile. The food is delicious and the view from the table sublime! We visit lodges frequently - this one will definitely be on the “return list”

This was an absolutely epic experience from beginning to end. We were met by our amazing tracker Philamon by the gate at welgevonden national park and the amazing trips started already there. After a beautiful drive where we met rhinos , elephants and zebra close up to the car we were met by the most wonderful staff. Throughout the weekend we loved the friendly staff, beautiful food and breathtaking safaris. We can’t wait to get back! We saw 4 out of the big five close up and learned so much about wildlife, preservation, botany and history. The facilities were great with private pool, outdoor shower and bath tub, wonderful spa facilities and not to forget the baboons just above our heads when we had a night swim. We will never forget four amazing days and highly recommend this lodge.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude for the excellent experience from 3.1-7.1.2025. The rooms and public areas are a delight to all senses, not to mention the first-class service and catering. The game drives were flawless and we saw everything we wanted and a little more. The park's colorfulness and animals complemented our experience. South Africa and Welgewonden/Ndlovu safari lodge remained in our minds and hearts forever.

Accommodation, service and food were exceptional! Staff were attentive and friendly. Game drives and coffee stops were great!

Our second visit to Ndlovu, reminded us what a special place Welgevonden is.  The rooms here are stunning and have every amenity one could possibly want. The outdoor spaces in the suites and communal areas are wonderful, spacious and have fantastic views of the watering hole which attracts various wildlife day and night. The chefs, Nicolas and Jane, are an amazing asset, as the food is truly top class. Philemon was an expert guide and provided us some great wildlife sightings. The new touches in the rooms & gym were thoughtful additions. We felt the waiting staff on our previous trip were of a higher standard in their attention to detail and service level.  This lodge has changed ownership recently and whilst it was good to briefly meet the owners we felt their constant presence of living onsite and utilising the facilities made for a slightly awkward atmosphere as a guest, and for the staff too. It felt a little like their private Lodge which happened to have some extra guests staying.  I hope in time the owners allow the highly experienced manager, Sanet, the bandwidth to do her job and not detract from a truly fantastic experience.

We recently had an unforgettable stay at Ndlovu Safari Lodge in Welgevonden, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. From the moment we arrived, the warmth and welcoming ambiance made it stand out from other five-star lodges we’ve visited over the years. The lodge's exclusivity, personalized service, and limited number of beautifully decorated rooms (complete with outdoor baths and showers) made for a truly intimate experience. The view from our private, spacious deck and plunge pool was breathtaking, and attention to detail was impeccable throughout—everything from the stylish decor to the beautifully presented meals is thoughtfully curated and well-maintained. Each evening, we returned from our game drives to find a perfectly drawn bubble bath and the cozy glow of crackling fireplaces. The game drives were remarkable, with rhino sightings being a highlight, and the gin tasting in the bush added a unique touch to our adventure. The boma dinner, accompanied by the staff's captivating singing performance, was an experience that we’ll treasure for years to come. Every moment at Ndlovu Safari Lodge was exceptional, making our stay one we will always remember.
