Sri Sharavi Beach Villas & Spa - with 43 Metre Saltwater Infinity Pool

HOTEL IS A SCAM! IT IS A GUESTHOUSE NOT 5* HOTEL. IT HAS NO STAR RATING! HOMEYMOON RUINED!!!! We booked online from the UK for our honeymoon as all booking websites stated this was a 5* hotel. We picked it due to this and it was the most expensive hotel in the area (even more than the Marriott Weligama/ we had just arrived from Anatara resort) and our longest stay. On arrival we were so underwhelmed. The property grounds were not tidy with leaves everywhere, the bathroom was run down with no amenities like a vanity or dental kit, the towels were not hotel and poor quality. The bar staff hassled us to buy drinks as we walked around. No 5* service. Breakfast was poor. We raised our concerns with the manager in the first instance and enquired about checking out early as we were on our honeymoon and had paid a lot for 5* and this was clearly not the case. The manager agreed to upgrade the room but we decided to sleep on it and decide in the morning. I then woke up with dead mosquitos on my pillow (first time in all of our Sri lanka 3 week stay) despite the mosquito net. Breakfast was poor quality with no fresh fruit and options of cappuccino at an extra charge! This is not 5*.. They had no complimentary activities like yoga, you also cannot surf on the beach! We immediately expressed checking out early due to disappointment and getting a refund for the remaining nights. The manager Kenny then stated we booked through a third party so we needed to contact them to check but had we booked directly with the hotel he would have refunded us. So we proceeded to do this. The third party agreed for a refund based on this ( we have it in writing) and said that they had made contact with the hotel and that they had agreed for a refund for us. We then proceeded to book an alternative hotel (as we had confirmation we booked the Marriot). We proceeded to get our bags and tell Kenny this, however he disputed the refund saying he had not stated this to us or third party and that he will not refund us. He called the higher manager who suggested our experience was due to booking an inferior room and 5* is subjective so we would not be refunded. It was sad and upsetting and has ruined our honeymoon. Upon checking into the Marriot, they advised us the property had no star rating we then emailed the official Sri Lankan tourism board who said the same (photos attached). Please note my other reviews I rarely leave bad reviews!

After a busy trip around sri lanka, Sri Sharavi was just what we needed. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and looked after. The rooms are absolutely beautiful overlooking the ocean that has waves flowing day and night. The pool was fantastic as were the happy hour coctails. The food reminded me of early fine dining days in Australia, the fresh fish was magnificent. We liked the location , being away from the busy part of Mirrisa, but still close enough to jump in a tuk tuk to explore. Special mention to Suranga and Mudu, we loved your service and chats. We were back in Mirissa and Weligama, our all-time favourite hotspots, and kicked off our holiday with a visit to the stunning Sri Sharavi Beach Villas for lunch , just a short 10-minute drive from Mirissa. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Kenny, the villa manager, whose hospitality set the tone for the rest of our experience. The layout of the property is absolutely beautiful, with four stylish buildings, each housing three elegant rooms and suites, plus two additional rooms alongside a serene spa. One of the standout features is the 43m infinity saltwater pool, which I believe is the largest in the area, an absolute showstopper! We couldn’t resist spending some time by the pool, soaking in the views and enjoying the tranquil atmosphere. The food was equally memorable, with every dish served to perfection. The service from the team was nothing short of outstanding, friendly, attentive, and always ready with a smile. I highly recommend Sri Sharavi Beach Villas to anyone looking for a mix of luxury, relaxation, and exceptional service in Mirissa. Whether you’re stopping by for a meal or planning a stay, it’s a place that will leave a lasting impression.

The superior deluxe room was amazing and so relaxing. We stayed here for 3 nights on our honeymoon and would definitely recommend choosing this room. The staff were welcoming and tried their best to be helpful. Dinner by candlelight close to the beach was a very special and memorable occasion. The food was always good and the staff serving the food friendly and very knowledgeable.

Sri Sharavi Beach Villas and Spa was the perfect resort to spend our last night and final full day in Sr Lanka. The welcome on arrival was warm and we were grateful for the cool towel and refreshing drink. Our villa was spacious and beautifully appointed and the view spectacular. We especially enjoyed the sound of the waves coming into shore. We dined on the balcony of our villa and appreciated a delicious dinner. The wait staff were friendly and attentive and looked after us brilliantly. Lounging by the pool was relaxing, and again the service was excellent. We had an early start for whale watching and the resort kindly prepared a packed breakfast for us to take along. Our stay here captured the beauty of Sri Lanka and the friendliness of the Sri Lankan people.

We stayed 7 nights in this “paradise” What a great hotel this is. Upon arrival we were taken to our room. We had booked the Ocean Signature suite. In one word, great. We have already visited many hotels. But never experienced this before. It felt like you had your own villa. Everyone can use a luxurious living room downstairs, where you can relax. The sound of the big waves all day long, wonderful!! The staff also does everything for you. All so friendly. The hotel also exudes a certain tranquility. We completely recovered from a 13-day tour in Sri Lanka. It's just a shame that the food in the restaurant is so expensive. And especially because there is also an additional 30.5% in taxes, fees, etc. on top. Partly because of this, we hardly ate at the hotel. It was a holiday and hotel we will never forget.
