We’re staying at Casa Camélia right now for our 8-day trip to Porto and honestly, it’s one of the loveliest places we’ve stayed for a city break. It’s our first time in Porto and we couldn’t have picked a better spot. After a full day out exploring, coming back to the calm of Casa Camélia feels like such a treat. The gardens are beautiful, with quirky little paths, flowers everywhere and the sound of the fountain in the background. The view over the Douro is something else. It’s peaceful and quiet but still right in the city, with a five-minute walk down to the river and tram, and ten minutes to most of the main historical attractions, bars and restaurants. The glass pavilion tucked away in the gardens, with views stretching over the rooftops of Porto, is such a relaxed and quiet place to start the day with a coffee and a lovely space to come back to after sightseeing. The team here have been amazing. Raffael, Kalif and Emilio have all been genuinely kind and helpful, and their recommendations made our time here even better. Our room (Dahlia) is spotlessly clean, spacious and really comfortable, with direct access to the serene gardens. Everything’s been easy and relaxed. We’ve felt properly looked after. Can’t recommend Casa Camélia enough
