Trouble booking in, they could neither find my booking nor confirm whether I had paid in advance. Room tiny, freezing cold. Feeble heater which had evidently been switched on only when I arrived. Window did not close properly. I spent the evening in my coat and gloves, and slept with my socks and a jumper on and was still cold. Black mould in bathroom (a lot). Very noisy plumbing, and it took around 20 minutes for hot water to emerge from the tap. Toilet seat did not fit properly. No sink plug, just a broken chain. Nowhere to hang clothes. No TV remote in room. Remote was provided on request, but with no batteries. Decor in a terrible state... "recently refurbished" apparently. Do not believe the pictures on their website. Holes in the walls and many stains, bits of old blu-tack and redundant, contradictory signage everywhere. Rowdy guests and thin walls meant I was woken several times in the night. WiFi would not connect. Breakfast was not available as no staff turned up until 11am. Door seemed insecure, it looked like it had been forced open at least once in the past. I was not prepared to risk leaving any valuables in my room. Generally I did not feel safe there. Very oddly, one of the drawers had what appeared to be coarse sea salt in it - I did not investigate further. I had booked a fairly lengthy stay but left after one night.

I booked my daughters 1st birthday party at this venue and the manager walked out and they had double booked the room, it was only the bouncy castle hire that had rang the venue for car parking arrangements to be sold they had no history of my booking. This alone ruined my daughter’s 1st birthday. Since then I have been constantly visiting and ringing the premises to get my £100 deposit back that we was taken by card so the business received the money not the manager who walked out of the business. Every time I call the manager is not on duty and most of the times I have visited she also is not on site, she never returned any of my calls where I left a message. They have accepted NO responsibility that as a business they received my money and although it was unfortunate that their manager walked out this is not the first time this year that has happened and I’m not surprised people don’t want to work in such a poorly run business. I have STILL not received the deposit back and I am having to do their job by chasing head office which also are useless as there’s no contact number for them and they ignore their emails, seems to be a common theme in this business and the type of people they employ. This has happened to several people I know so I would defiantly avoid at all costs and take your money elsewhere before you’re let down and your special event is ruined.

We went there for a friends wedding reception... being disabled and in a wheel chair an accessible toilet was needed.. when bar staff were asked where we could find one we where told their accessible toilet was broken and it had not been fixed, but there was another toilet which they thought would be ok...... the said toilet consisted of a normal toilet with a bar on the wall the toilet seat was broken off and stuck down the back so only the base was there and the floor was swimming in dirty screwed up toilet paper thrown on the floor.... in the end my friends had to help me use a normal toilet, it was the most traumatic experience of my life.... we left the venue around half hour later as i had no wish to go through that again........ this place is not wheel chair friendly and the actual inside of the building looks grubby. If you are planning an event and need a venue, give this place a miss if you have people going who use a wheel chair. if i could of given -1 .... i would have.

I would give 0 stars if there was an option. Avoid this place like the plague! We booked my brothers wedding reception here but there was change of management after we booked, I was told someone would contact me but never did, rang numerous times no call back from manager so we had to go up there and hope she was in! We were promised a better deal with the food as she said we was being ripped off being charged £716 for the catering!!! Comes to the day and it looked liked we had only £70 worth of food and to be told this is what we supply but yet I got no money back after paying £716 to cater 80 people. The hot food was cold, the sandwiches had been left out and there were no utensils for serving. We was told guests could arrive and go straight in but when they arrived they were told they could not go in and was made to wait outside. The cake was still in the cellar along with the favour boxes. The tea urn we had booked was apparently broken and then we had to ask for the juice to be brought out as that was forgotten. There was only 1 bar staff between 2 bars and one card machine, 2 staff walked out. We was being served in small plastic white cups as they ran out of glasses, we was told it ended at 23.30pm yet guests that was staying there said music was going on till after 2am! There was no senior management on the night they left young staff to manage on their own! We have used this club for years but it’s gone really down hill. No communication what so ever the one only staff member that actually tried to help us was Lisa and the only one that seem to care. Why advertise you hold events if they don’t know how to run one!!! They should have there license provoked and stop robbing people and ruining their special moments in their life’s!!!

I’d prefer to give this dump no stars but the site will only accept a minimum of one. I was caught short to book accommodation on the road from London to Holyhead, I was pleased that I got a room sorted. Unfortunately this was where the satisfaction ended. I arrived late at night and when I checked in there was no reception open just a key left behind the bar. The room was filthy and being early January I had expected there to be heating on, an app on the phone measured 8 degrees inside the room. Headboards were hanging off the wall, the floor hadn’t been vacuumed in god knows how long. The beds and blinds were stained so badly that the room just felt filthy, I didn’t sleep a wink in the place mostly due to the cold and the stink of cigarettes. I had planned to have breakfast at 0930hrs and then head off but losing the battle to sleep and will to live I got out of there shortly after 0600hrs rather than risk food poisoning. Honestly I’d rather sleep in the car next time. Being ex Army (30 years) I’ve slept in some fairly horrific places and this place would give the worst of them a run for their money. We arrived at Minworth lodge today and they do not have a room for us, dispute us booking a room 3 months in advance (Early December). They said the information they received from *********** only had us in for Friday and Saturday night, not the Thursday night that had been booked at the same time and confirmed multiple times in multiple emails. The manager was very rude and very unhelpful. I showed her the confirmation email and booking on the app and turned us away without helping or providing any support . Absolutely disgusted by the attitude and behaviour shown there.
