Aparthotel Cordial Mijas Golf

Stay away! Awful experience, and the Hotel have been woeful to say the least in responding to the subsequent complaint; Issues include; 1) Phones were not working in the rooms; When I complained, of the inconvenience to have to travel to reception each time we wanted them, their responses was ''from your room to the reception doesn't take longer than two minutes''! Apart from the cheek, our room (#521) was the LAST room (ie furthest away) from the lifts on the 5th floor. The journey to reception took 4 minutes, each way, and longer with our small children (who we couldn't leave by themselves). Most significantly, the travel time should be irrelevant; the fact is that Cordial advertised/notified that there would be ability to call reception/room service, and there was no such service as a result of this issue. 2) There were multiple faults with the rooms; Cordial claimed that the only fault we reported was ''2 broken bulbs'' - That was false, as we reported multiple faults. We also had to arrange the sink to be unblocked. In relation to the cleanliness; we didn't bother reporting this as the amount of issues in the room got to a point where we felt it was 'too much to report'. 3) There was a leak during our stay, the wifi didn't work as a result, during that time. The Hotel subsequently denied it affected the wifi! 4) Cordiol advertised a games room; we enquired about the games room, on 'Day 1' of our stay, only to be told that the Games Room had been out of action for months. When I complained after the stay, Cordial alluded that it could have been used, when in fact it was out of use/bounds. Either way, we were advised, in an email conversation prior to our stay (on 24th May 2023 @ 10:25am) that there was a games room at the hotel - which was false.

Basic accommodation in poor condition. Air con smells of sewage. Only one sheet on the bed so had to ask for additional blankets as children got cold at night . Lack of utensils in cupboards. No iron or ironing board . Iron was available from reception but was told told no ironing boards so to iron on the bed . Rooms were dusty and under beds were filthy . 3 bedroom apartment but only balcony seating for 4 when there was 6 of us. No supermarket close by have to drive to get anywhere and no food available on site at lunch despite having a pool bar it only serves the bare minimum drinks and a few ice creams. The pool area was lovely , but sadly the water gets deep very quickly so not suitable for unconfident swimmers as it’s 2m deep Mijas town is beautiful and my advice would be to Book something nearer to the town . The hotel is far from 4stars in UK standards. I would not recommend it as there are far far better places to stay . Not being able to access any food during the day meant we needed to drive out to get lunch and as previously stated accommodation below standard.

Pros apartments was very spacious with large balcony Pool was well kept and plenty of space Cons No food onsite between 10.30am-7.30pm - pool bar does not serve any food and nearest supermarket is a 10 min taxi away (not walkable) The “snack bar” is a press with some random items which closes from 12.30pm onwards and “cannot be opened” No shops or anything in walking distance Taxi to and from nearest beaches/towns is €15e each way

Disappointing! And not expecting a trip to local police station to report stolen jewellery from room © • Room size was great. Reception staff were attentive. @ • We stayed 10 days stay our apartment was NOT cleaned. Clean towels but bedding not changed, sinks, toilets & floor not cleaned at all. Also we had 2 x watches stolen from our room & 99% sure the cleaner stole it. So a trip to police station was not appreciated. So very disappointed & upset. Great shame as this was our third stay and we loved it before!

Stayed for a week in a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment. Good stuff: - Room has plenty of storage for clothes/toiletries/etc, plenty of space, and good bathrooms. - Swimming pool is well kept and convenient to reach - there were plenty of deck chairs and shade and a nearby bar. - Spa is excellent. Has all you need - jacuzzi, cold plunge, sauna, beds - and easy to book. Towels are included. - Reception staff are friendly and helpful. - Plenty of free parking around the hotel and general area - only the garage requires payment. Okay: - Wi-Fi is free and somewhat easy to access, but it can be spotty at times and I did have to log in multiple times. - The gym has enough to get a good workout in, and has a great view of the surrounding area/mountains. You won't find a lot of people there around midday/afternoon. However, some of the cardio machines were not working, and it could benefit from pull up and dip bars to make it more complete. Bad: - Keycards. We had to get them replaced a few times as they would stop working and there would be no way in to the room. Reception staff were helpful in replacing them, though it would be better if it wasn't an issue. - Our room came with some issues - non-working door locks, door handle that wasn't screwed in, loose toilet seat - which should have been fixed prior to our arrival. - The twin single beds are uncomfortable and do not have blankets/duvets unless you ask for them in reception.

We stayed at Aparthotel Cordial Mijas Golf In June I wanted to share our experience at this hotel to warn other travellers or locals alike. We paid £173 for one night 3 people including breakfast. We arrived at around 12:30am and was told we need to pay for our room on check-in, not a problem. So we go to our room which was not in the main building a bit of a struggle to find but we found it in the end. On entering the apartment it smelled of damp but we was so tired we just fell in to bed (& to be fair I really could not be trying to find my way back to reception in the dark!!) Anyway the next morning when we woke I was absolutely mortified at the state of the apartment it was absolutely filthy. I then went out on to the balcony which was covered in bird poop never in my whole life have I seen so much poop in one place everything was covered along with cigarette butts. We went to the reception with photos and was told housekeeping must of missed that particular room and balcony!!! They refused to refund us as they did not have the authority and the manger would not be back until Monday, it was Saturday. So long story short after numerous emails @AparthotelCordialMijas offered us a £50 voucher to use the next time we are in Spain. Errr do they really think we would stay with them again. So a warning to the wise do not waste your money and stay there it’s a disgrace.. I have added pictures so you can make your own minds up..

Convenient location if you are visiting and doing things in Mijas Golf area. Building is clean but has deferred maintenance ( for example older furniture with stains). Onsite Parking is additional fee , which is common for Costa Del Sol. If you do not pay for parking , expect to drive around a bit to find a space ( just pay for parking). Front desk staff is friendly and welcoming. Cleaning staff does not understand or respect the "do not disturb" sign on door and will bang on your door daily regardless. Bed was not at all comfortable. Jacuzzi was not functional. Clean enough but not top level attention to cleanliness . For me , Good enough for a few nights traveling solo because location close to my friends home - but would not stay longer than that due to uncomfortable bed. My room had interior pool views but there were nice views from gym Sufficient but not great .

Great hotel very clean and the staff were very friendly, we would especially like to thank Pedro for going above and beyond and making our stay very enjoyable , we were after a quite Hotel and this is what we got no more that’s one other couple by the pool most of the day, stunning views
