Really good stay. Clean and comfy room. Good food. Very warm welcome. We came about a week after the new owners took it over and they couldn’t have been more hospitable. As three very tired and muddy cyclists they looked after us totally. Would definitely recommend and I’ll certainly be back.

We arrived on the first night of the new take over by the community and had a lovely time. Staff brilliant and welcoming. Room lovely and clean. Evening meal good value and tasty and breakfast fab. Would certainly come again and would recommend.

Needing a lovely country pub to stay in along the South Downs Way. However, this was not it. Seriously overpriced Small cramped room Whole place needs a refurb, grubby and tired. Tables in restaurant sticky. Would not recommend this place to anyone, and would never return. Avoid is my suggestion.

Great food, and menu we had the Shared the Chacuterie for Starters then Shawarma Kebab and Indonesian Peanut Chicken for Mains which was good quality and very tasty. Good value, the pub is community led so the staff may appear a little undertrained or maybe not so confident as some top pubs. However saying that they are hospitable and some are friendly so no complaints. Would definitely recommend and may well return if we cycle the South Downs way again!!

The staff in here are THE BEST. Helpful, funny, kind and calm. The place is great for walkers and cyclists - dogs welcome. The staff know what's going on and how to get stuff done. Totally unfazed. And a really great bacon sarni in the morning.

2nd time we've been here in a few years. Don't live locally but visit the area for Goodwood and to enjoy driving the A283/6. On both visits, we've been greeted very warmly with nice drinks and menu without massive prices. Hats off to them. We will definitely come again. Husband had the chicken burger and I had the sausage and mash. We felt both were above average and quite creative. THANK YOU! Also used the delightful village shop and PO and visited the 11th Century Church on foot - what's not to love?

Stayed 2 nights for friends wedding. Comfy well appointed room with everything you need. Pub is on a very busy road but at night the traffic really reduces and the room was very quiet despite being at the front of the building. Sharon & her very hardworking team provided excellent food & service all weekend - from our breakfast right through to the wedding reception 3 course meal & evening buffet. The food (& there was plenty of it) was a delight throughout. Thoroughly recommend a visit at this community hub for both overnight stays & meals. 5*

A welcome stop if walking the South Downs way. A community run pub and the staff were fantastic and couldn’t be more helpful, especially the chef and restaurant staff. Room was clean and tidy with good shower. Gave it 4 stars because it was quite pricy for one night compared to others we stopped at, and it was on a busy road. However it was quiet at night.

An excellent community run pub/b&B/restaurant. We had booked a twin room which was fine and quiet as at the back of the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable and the food and beer an added bonus Friendly and helpful staff. We would recommend this venue for south downs walkers
