Second time I booked this hotel, first time really satisfied. This time big disappointment and annoying service at arrival. I arrived at 03 in the morning, a group of around 10 people in front of me, ok can happen, but maybe train a member of the concierge staff to do simple check in. At that time, 1/2 hour waiting is not optimal. But the annoying part started when they provided me with two singel beds, while I booked king bed. Oh yes I should have read the small letters. The man said, last room for you. Oke, when I arrived in my room, it was so dirty, smelly old sheets and towels, like it was last of everything, and such an contradiction compared to last visit. In the morning I went down and the moved me to another room, it was the same as my last visit, that one all good. When asked they said, both rooms qualify the same standard!? The difference is so huge.
When I initially booked I knew that there was no availability on one specific day, so I asked to be put on the waiting list. On the day of check out, I asked them again if there was any cancellation so I could extent my stay, Oh yes sir you can, you can book online! Can you not book it, yes I can, (why you wont offer this!?), price is x, I explained that is twice the price I paid through a booking site, she replied, you can try that. So I did, but following all booking sites it was sold out, I informed her, she replied I cannot do anything about it. I understand that bookingsites are cheaper most of the time, but twice doesn't seem correct. Also for an International Chain as the IHG, probably every hotel, this is bad services.
