Royal Motel

From start to finish this place was a joke, the instant smell of the rooms was nasty, everything was ourdated the fridge didnt even work, the bathroom door wouldnt shut right, they literally covered a hole in the door with a floor tile, the air and heat was a literal joke and not to mention the lady working the counter was down right rude and no help what so ever, me and my friend had went into the lobby to ask for a extra towel and a pillow because her pillow on her bed was dirty, she was ignorant and said come back in the morning...you need pillows to sleep, and my friend was like its fine you can just use the towel i already to which i said no i shouldn't have to use a towel that you used already so needless to say we ended up driving all the way into ohio like an hour away at like 1130 at night to Meijers just to get towels and a pillow, we paid for a room for the weekend and service comes with that so we thought i highly recommend you just pay the little extra to stay somewhere else because between the owners and the way the place is in general its not even worth the money you would save, i was highly disappointed not to mention there was bugs too. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AT ALL COST

It’s an older place but the owner is very nice they keep it clean and for the to price come on you won’t find a place with better water pressure Yes it’s outdated but it’s still better then most expensive places

I had a recent stay at the motel this past weekend in room 104 the bed was comfortable. The heat was good and the TV had a lot of stations and the gentleman at the front was nice and every time he saw me ask if I needed anything, and if I did need anything, just come up to the front desk.

The room was clean and comfortable. There was no coffee maker in the room but otherwise it was fine. The good news is that there are a lot of restaurants in the area. The bad news is that there are no sidewalks or crosswalks, so walking across the 4 lane highway or down the street is dangerous.

I rate kind of like how they judge dogs. So I rate this based on other motels not against hotels, extended stay suites etc. My son and I had an event in Youngstown and decided at rhe last minute the drive there would require we leave way earlier than I wanted, so I was looking for something cheap with two beds. We would be there about 8 hours total, so perks like breakfast, a pool, etc would be wasted. So if you want/need that stuff, this place isn't what you want. Room was clean. Sheets were clean. Room was not real bright, but did not smell. Toilet ran until handle was jiggled. Standard tub with shower. We got there around 10:30 office was locked, but someone came withing 30 seconds of ringing the bell. Could not pay ahead and had to fill out a paper form which felt old school, but at least they had a modern credit card reader. Room had a key, no key cards. There was a bucket for ice, I am not sure where ice machine is, didn't need it. Motel is on the main drag, but I did not notice traffic. I might have given 5 stars instead of 4, if not for the WiFi. We were two doors down from the office, but wifi was a very weak signal. Wasn't really an issue because we went to bed as soon as we got there and left right after we woke up.

Host was most pleasant, helpful and accommodating to our situation. We were grateful for his kindness.

Customer service excellent! Old hotel with needed repair issues but clean! Pillows & bed hard & uncomfortable! Location good! Right by several stores & restaurants! Price is reasonable! We’ve stayed here before & will continue to for WaterFire Festival! If you’re looking for luxury, this is not the place but if you’re looking for good priced, clean place to stay, not a bad place!

The TV and heat did not work in our room and there was no blanket.
