Hotel Carlos 96

Day 2 of our Camino brought us to Melide which is a decent sized town. Hotel is well situated on the side of the Main Street. It was very busy, primarily I would imagine with ‘pilgrims’ such as ourselves. Room was quite modern with air conditioning ,tv, phone etc. Very decent bathroom with good towels, hot shower and essential soaps/ shampoo etc. We did not eat in the restaurant that night as the town is very well served with a good selection of eateries. When we returned the bar area was very busy with local patrons. They also served dinner and seemed to have a big crowd booked in. Breakfast on following morning was really good, excellent selection of cereals, juices, bacon/eggs together with cold meats/ fruit etc. Overall a very pleasant stop on our walk.

Fabulous amenities and good location with excellent service. Thank you Luis you make a great cuppa and serve a first class brandy. The evening meal and breakfast were delicious. Made use of the laundry and there is a massage service for the Camino walkers payable locally. Rooms are clean and bed comfortable.

We arrived after a very wet Camino walk and were very grateful that our room was ready even though it was quite early in the day. The room is large with an enclosed balcony area which was very useful. The restaurant is incredible! Menu of the day was offered at lunchtime at €13 and was nothing like the pilgrim menus usually offered. We both had two different dishes and everything was perfect. We then had a different nighttime menu of the day for dinner, again every dish was wonderful with the owner taking a personal interest in your opinions of the good. Breakfast was also brilliant, a good variety and everything fresh. The family who run this place are so nice, thank you for having us! Would definitely return.

We stayed here during our Camino. Great warm welcome. The hotel is tired looking inside and out. We had a very good sized room with good amenities - shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion. We ate at the hotel, unfortunately the food wasn't to our taste and felt quite rushed - didn't have time to take a breath between courses - which would suit some people. There was a fantastic spread for breakfast. The hotel is functional and just a short walk into the town or walk to Fuerlos which is a lovely village.

Just off the Camino do use Google maps do you don’t miss it. Excellent staff. 5 star breakfast . Everything you could want, cereals, fruit, pastry, egg, meat, cheese, jam, yoghurt, chilled water, juice and hot drinks. Rooms clean and good. Walls thin . Evening meal oily but nicely presented

Very welcoming nice friendly staff. Prob the best the dinner and breakfast on the whole of our Camino experience. The dinner was €15 we had Callos with chickpeas/ Osso Buko/desert and wine. Nothing was any trouble. Very attentive waitress. Breakfast was amazing eggs bacon cold cuts cheese jams breads cereals yogurt pastries juices tea and coffee There was also a laundrette €4 for wash €3 for drying. Would defo recommend this place to stay in Melide.
