The cabin rental price includes a rowing boat, and there's an option to rent a 4hp, 2-stroke outboard motor from the owner (the customers bring their own fuel). The nearest boat launch spot to the lake is Vietosenhieta, around 20 km by road from the cabin (6 km by water). Less than a kilometer from the cabin is the protected Himotussaari island, featuring a kota (Finnish wilderness hut) managed by Metsähallitus. The island is an excellent destination for excursions in summer and winter. There's also a snowmobile route passing through Vietonen to reach the island. The owner's hut in Palovaara, 3 km away, is also available for customers as an excursion spot. Pello...
