Dreams Estrella del Mar Mazatlán Golf & Spa Resort

To begin the review, let me iterate that as of June 27th, 2024, the Resort is not fully complete. It’s pretty clear that they needed to rush a few things to reach a deadline and some things such as the pool bar, kids club, Mexican Restaurant, Spa and Theater are straight up not even open yet. There are slight design flaws such as sliding door supports being too low and doors being too heavy for their hinges causing a little bit of lean. There has been construction and fire alarm tests. Now with that being said… The resort is very comfortable. While I am American and my Spanish is basically non-existent, I rarely felt like staff weren’t understanding what I was trying to say. The staff are clearly facing complaints and they are trying to do their best. A lot of the waiters, bartenders and poolside servers have been not only friendly and helpful, but gone out of their way to ensure my stay has been excellent. I’ve spent 6 Nights and I think that’s perfect! The resort isn’t one of the biggest Dreams but the restaurants and bars along with the amazing Lazy River and great pools have made it so easy to sit and lounge with a tasty cocktail. The rooms are also super nice. I’ve experienced amazing AC and a great ceiling fan. While my time hasn’t been so otherworldly hot (I say that while being here in late June), the AC has been very comfortable and been a great break from the heat. The beds are comfy and very well made by the hardworking and attentive housekeeping. Very spacious and comfy and all rooms facing the beach and pool area ensures a breathtaking view every time you open the curtains. The food can be a bit of a mixed bag. While the World Cafe has been consistently great for breakfast, it’s dinner offerings are a little lackluster. Especially compared to Oceana and Portofino. World Cafe’s food could be described as sometimes a little cold or unremarkable but still decent quality. Barefoot grill is to be expected. Just super solid poolside snacks. Oceana, Portofino and Meraki are definitely where you’ll be experiencing the Dreams signature, foodwise. They’re super good and have some of the most warm and outstanding staff. As it stands, if you care about great pools, great drinks and great food, you’re going to be pleased. The bars have an excellent atmosphere with great bartenders and excellent drinks to boot. You’ll be sure to have a great drink here! While there are flaws, the potential for the resort is definitely there and I could see myself coming back in a year or two once all of the kinks are worked out. They are a little understaffed and there are just minor design flaws but overall, this resort is very comfy and very accommodating! Final Rating: 3.8/5 Can’t beat that view!!!

We had a wonderful stay at the resort. We were there for a week and while there was still some construction and not everything was open, it was a very relaxing trip. The views were outstanding and the staff were all hard working, friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Luckily for us it wasn’t that crowded so we could thoroughly enjoy the pool and various restaurants. Several staff stood out to us and we want to give a shout out to Andres, Yulisa, Alonso, Edgar, Oscar, Fabiola, Gill, and Ivan to name a few. Whether they were checking us in, or making sure our every poolside and restaurant need was met, staff were all excellent. We will definitely return and highly recommend the resort. Our only regret was that we didn’t into Mazatlán and take in the area so next time.

At Dreams Estrella Del Mar hanging by the pool with the family. So far the pool service has been great. Ruffo helped us with the drinks and food. Plenty more f seats to choose from. Entertainment has been fun to watch. Enjoying the view by the ocean.

The Sugar Reef bar is awesome, well stocked and the Barman Abel & Ruffo are phenomenal!! They are very courteous, friendly and most of all prompt with their service when you are at the pool thirsty after a day of swimming and pool lounging. I highly recommend you ask for Abel and Ruffo!!

Great soft opening, The resort is on limited low occupancy, so all pools, bars and restaurants are not crowded. The staff is extremely friendly and eager to help, specially the restaurant and Front desk staff ( Joel, Manuel, Aaron and David, Roberto, Omar, Hugo, Caro, Eunice) Food is amazing, fresh seafood is the top choice at the Occeana and MERAKI restaurant, Portofino’s osobucos lamb was my favorite!!! Rooms are new, beds feel like clouds and pillows menu is available for different options. Cleaning service on the room is every day, and room service is fast and convenient for night service. Coco cafe has a special mention, different options for pepitos and sandwiches!!! Top service by Karla, Thuy and Nathalia. Drinks at the pool by Isaac, Annuar and Edgar are the best. Dont forget to try the geltato shop pictaccio flavor was my fav. Gym is Clean, small but, complete, you only miss the dumbells. Patio restaurant is not done yet, but was not notice because food was always available and so may options im sad I could not try all of them dishes. Spa is not open yet still under costruction but did nod needed we were busy all day by the pool and eating Great new option in Mexico,

de los meseros en general nos gustó el servicio , me gustaría felicitar al restaurante Oceana en el lunch todo perfecto la comida excelente y el trato de lujo. Quiero felicitar a Josué en la alberca nos atendió en prefereed su servicio es excelente si van pregunten por él en la alberca, los tacos de cordero deliciosos y las bebidas de lujo, y las habitaciones nuevas amplias muy hermosas estamos encantados en el hotel se los recomendamos plenamente.

Una honorable reseña para Edwin del restaurante Oceana, muy amable y con muy buena actitud. Es un muy buen mesero e hizo que mi experiencia mejorara. Tambien el animador Juan mejoró mi experiencia ya que tambien tenia muy buena actitud y es muy agradable, hizo nuestra experiencia mejor.

Lo positivo: El servicio de Ruffo en la alberca. Comida rica. Habitaciones bonitas y limpias. Nos tocó poca gente en albercas y áreas comunes. El hotel es nuevo, alejado de todo (está a 30 minutos de Mazatlán). Está ubicado a 15 minutos de los Mariscos del Cuchupetas (aprovechamos para comer ahí antes de llegar al hotel). Tiene toboganes para los niños y no hay filas. Lazy river. Aunque aún no está abierta el área para niños, en ciertos horarios hay actividades en la alberca para ellos. Se pueden ver a lo lejos delfines (tocan una campana los salvavidas del hotel cuando van pasando), un espectáculo muy bonito. No hay vendedores ambulantes, ni bandas en la playa. Lo negativo: Llegamos a hacer check in a las 2:30 y nos dieron la habitación a las 4:00 pm (lo cual si me molestó) ya estábamos cansados del viaje y queríamos descansar. Tienen poco personal para limpieza, entonces nuestra habitación no estaba lista. El personal es amable, pero aún tienen muchas dudas. Pregunté si eran miembros de American Express para aplicar beneficios y nadie me supo responder. Aún faltan restaurantes por abrir y los que están abiertos no funcionan al 100% de su capacidad. Faltan sombras en las albercas. No es la mejor playa de Mazatlán, hay una montañita de arena antes del mar. Hay 2 toboganes pero solamente se puede usar el que está cerrado, porque el otro está mal empastado y te puedes raspar. En general, tuvimos una muy buena impresión de éste hotel.

Las instalaciones están padres pero el servicio es bastante malo, es evidente que les falta personal, se les acaba la comida y bebidas todo el tiempo, fallan en la limpieza, la calidad de los alimentos es mediocre excepto en los restaurantes de especialidad pero en ellos la espera es larguísima porque las cocinas no se dan a basto. La playa está vacía, por ser mar abierto no se puede nadar y una montañita de arena tapa la vista. No lo recomiendo para nada, a lo mejor dentro de unos años corrigen los detalles
