Apparthotel Veronika

Absolutely fantastic stay at Apparthotel Veronika. Free ski bus stop is about 1 min away, approximately 10-minute walk to Penken if preferred. The apartments are just gorgeous, full of authentic Alpine charm, exuding a relaxed cosiness and homely atmosphere. Perfect for a visit to Austria. Immaculately clean with spacious sitting room, leading to a lovely terrace with amazing views across the mountain side. Fully equipped kitchen, comfortable bedroom with ample storage, in fact there is plenty of storage throughout the apartment. The pool area is absolutely gorgeous with heated pool, comfortable loungers and plenty of towels creating a relaxing ambience, sauna and steam room perfect after a day skiing, the hydrotherapy bed is an added bonus. Martin, Sandra and the Huber family are so warm, accommodating and gracious, helping to make our visit to Mayrhofen perfect.

We had a very enjoyable experience at this beautiful Hotel. The location was perfect - about a minute walk to the bus stop. The rooms where perfect & very clean, this was important with young kids. The pool / sauna room is very relaxing and enjoyable Overall a great experience in this Hotel.

Lovely apartment in a chalet, so lots of amazing wood features, and beautifully decorated. Has an indoor pool and wellness centre with gym, sauna, steam room, sun bed, hydrotherapy bed, beautifully decorated. Martin and his family looked after us and are very welcoming. The chalet is in the heart of the village and a short free bus ride to the gondola. You can have breakfast or order in bread/rolls for breakfast in your apartment.

Such a charming hotel! We stayed as a family in two apartments, both were spacious, clean and fully equipped with essentials. The location was convenient near the train station (the ski lifts are a bit of a trek, but bus stops nearby), plentyof restaurants within an easy walk. The spa and pool facilities were great, and again spotlessly clean and well maintained. We loved the little personal touches like providing bath robes in different sizes for the guests (including the children!) The owners and staff were fantastic, very welcoming and friendly. We couldn't fault this hotel and would love to return!

I would be quite wary of the universal 5 star rating for this place. (I speculate thr aparthotel have managed a very successful social media campaign). I certainly can appreciate why some people like it - but there is no way it’s 5 star - and for us (family with 7 and 10 year old) it was very suboptimal, and certainly the least enjoyable place we stayed in Austria in nearly 20 visits. Location: Poor for skiiing. It’s 3-4 minutes walk from the bus stop. But, the buses are unreliable and often leave early or arrive late. You should factor 20-30 minutes to reach the Penken gondola each morning. Returning is worse, the last bus is 17:15, so if want to enjoy apres ski be prepared for a 20 minute trek in your ski gear. Accommodation: Aesthetically, the building has a typical alpine chalet charm. The apartment itself was jaded and quite impractical (and actually quite a dreary orangey/ brown colour scheme and nothing like the vibrant pictures). Carpets were stained. The bathroom and kitchen were both very dated. The living room had an pullout sofa bed, which dominated the room when extended as a bed (blocking access to kitchen), but was very difficult and time consuming to fold back to a couch. The apartments were given a very courtesy tidy each day (except Sunday), but not really cleaned. The plumbing was noisy, and each time a toilet was flushed on the above floors it made quite a noise through the apartment(ugh…) Overall not very good considering the price. Spa/swimming pool: The swimming pool is small, and quite pretty. The Finnish sauna is ok (but the timber seats looked a bit grubby). We noticed it was shut-off early (around 7:30pm). The steam room is lovely but only operated every second day. Evidently the owner is trying to save energy costs. We only managed to use one of our complimentary hydro-massages as the machine was constantly occupied or displaying an error. Overall it’s not a very child friendly arrangement (not by typical British standards). The pool and sauna’s are in the same area and the pool can only be accessed by walking past the sauna’s and showers. This area is ‘naked’ and so your children are likely to be exposed to nudity. Hospitality: the hotel is owner occupied and managed. Superficially they are friendly, but without elaborating in too much detail, we found the overall quality of service to be poor - and at times intrusive and lacking appropriate discretion/respect. Conclusion: The apartments are located in a fantastic resort and have some aesthetic charm. But overall they are not family friendly (or practical for skiing with kids) and have far too many negatives for the price.

The entire hotel is super. Lots of traditional touches makes it feel really authentic from the old family photos to antiques. The Zillertal suite was great, top floor with a fantastic glass wall the entire length of the living/dining room. The kitchen was functional with a two burner stove, microwave oven combo and dishwasher. We enjoyed coffee on the balcony in the afternoon even though it wasn't facing due south. The highlight of the stay is the spa area. Indoor pool that looks like something out of ancient Rome with a private sitting area. Sauna, steam room, tanning bed and what I think is called a solar sauna. All fantastic after a day of skiing, hiking or after, well anything. Lastly there is a massage table. I can only describe it as a waterbed with internal programable jets the make patterns on your back and shoulders down to your ankles. I couldn't get enough!

This is a lovely family apartment hotel, located in a quiet area, 2 minutes to the ski bus and approximately 12 minute walk to the main cable car. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The room was immaculately clean spacious and comfortable and the spa and wellness area has both dry and wet saunas, a large indoor pool as well as other facilities- all in good taste. Breakfast was excellent. Highly recommended.

Perfect Austrian style apartments - almost everything (the only thing was missing is a washer, but you can live with that) you need for holiday vocations - very comfy beds, pillows and blankets, kitchen, hot water, nice breakfast with an owner and rest of the staff, ideal SPA, ski depot, parking, and the main thing is service. We felt at home whole stay at Veronika. Fully recommend this place while visiting Mayrhofen.

I loved everything about this place! It's exceptionally clean, attention paid to the smallest details. Fantastic spa area, beautiful pool and saunas. Location is perfect - silent neighborgood but also very close to skibus that takes you to the skilift in 5 minutes. Owners are very dedicated to the place and really care that their guests feel good. It's a place with good vibes!
