Myself and my husband have stayed at the mulranny park hotel previously and had a lovely experience but on this occasion it was not good , we booked into the John Lennon suite which was a lovely room , we had booked a seaweed bath which was priced on their website for €50pp, we then had a lovely meal in the restaurant so all good , on returning to our room we settled down for what we hoped would be a restful nights sleep but there was a terrible noise coming from roof above our window , it was a windy night and I thought it was the window but my husband checked that and said no it’s the roof like something was loose and rattling and the wall was vibrating , it was late in the night so we tried to ignore it but it was very bad and we didn’t get any sleep, we went for breakfast the next morning and to be honest the food was extremely poor and not what we had experienced when we stayed previously, we asked to speak to the manager to make him aware that there was a problem with the roof and noise level (also in case it was something loose that might fall from the roof and cause an accident) he did not come out of his office to talk to us and the receptionist Caroline did her best to deal with our concerns, herself and the accommodation manager came to our room and viewed the problem themselves and agreed with us that their definitely was a problem and I also sent video evidence of how bad it was in the middle of the night, when I went to check out I was told that the manager said that it was not a problem with the roof that it was just the wind without even viewing it himself, I beg to differ especially when the wall was practically shaking from it and the level of noise from it was concerning , they offered us €70 discount for the lack of sleep which I thought was menial but I accepted , but then to add insult to injury they tried to overcharge us for the seaweed baths and said that they had gone up from 50pp to 65pp , I said that is not what is advertised on your website , another lady who was beside me and was paying her bill was having exactly the same issue they were trying to overcharge her too for her seaweed baths , we both asked to speak to the manager and he still wouldn’t come out of his office to address his customers concerns which I feel was extremely rude and unprofessional of him , as far as I have been made aware the hotel is now under new management which according to this display of non management is detrimental to this hotel , after much arguing and standing our ground both me and the other lady paid what was quoted on the website but it left me with a feeling of disappointment and anger to be treated in such a manner and I actually felt sorry for the receptionist as it wasn’t her responsibility to deal with this situation the so called manager hiding in his office should have dealt with this ,, this is a beautiful hotel in a lovely location but obviously not being managed properly which is a shame and I’m sad to say it has put
