The Firecat Country House Guesthouse

Wow... Wow... Wow!!! If something is this good it's definitely worth shouting about!!! Can not thank our hosts, Robin and Jane enough for looking after us and going above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and relaxed while we stayed in their beautiful country cottage retreat. Robin is such an interesting and intelligent gentlemen, his knowledge of food and quality products is extensive, we had breakfast on both mornings and wow... it certainly blew us away!!! The quality and the way it was cooked was perfection.... even our tomato was delicious!!!! The cottage was cosy, beautiful and full of history and the surrounding gardens were peaceful, the perfect way to spend a evening of relaxing after a long days walk and activities, and if your lucky you may just see the army fighter jets flying low over the cottage!!! It's certainly a spectacle!!!! Jane was also lovely, welcoming us and chatting away making us feel at home, the rooms were very clean and had everything we needed for our stay, even smelling of freshly washed laundry!!!! If your looking for somewhere to spend your time this is certainly the place for a relaxed, getaway. Can not thank Robin and Jane enough. Will definitely be seeing you again... till next time, take care xx

This is an amazing find. We booked at the last minute and were warmly greeted with a pot of tea, sitting in the garden overlooking the stunning countryside. Our host Robin helpfully answered all our questions about the history of the house and its construction. Despite the very short notice we had given of our stay, Robin provided a superb meal of same-day fresh scallops for me and tender lamb for my husband. This was followed by the best bread and butter pudding we have ever had with home made ice-cream. The wine was wonderful. Robin has an extensive knowledge of food and nutrition and the meal reflected this. Our room was beautiful, with a beautiful four poster bed and an excellent shower. The breakfast was perfect. Robin and Jane are excellent hosts and stood at the door waving us off. We recommend this B&B most highly.

What a fantastic place, we booked a one night stay last minute and we were so pleased. Robin welcomed us to the guest house, he was so friendly and helpful. Our room was wonderful, so quirky and has all its original features, which adds so much character. Breakfast was outstanding, I have a gluten allergy, and Robin was wonderful, he ensured I had gluten free breakfast and went above and beyond to accommodate. I cannot thank him enough, Jane greeted us in the morning for breakfast, what a wonderful host, so pleasant and friendly, Our experience was wonderful, we wish we could have stayed longer. We will be booking to stay again soon! Highly recommended for anyone in the area or anyone with allergies.

The most amazing guesthouse experience in a beautiful Welsh valley setting. The accommodation is beautifully restored with modern amenities and comfy fourposter beds. The absolute stand out experience was the fine dining in the evening. Every detail was high end - beautiful looking dishes with sophisticated flavours. An extensive wine menu and the owner/chef Robin is so talented. Simply a must for any foodies who want a really unique and personalised experience

Thank you so much Robin & Jane, we had the best time at your B&B! Nothing was too much trouble. Our accommodation is superb - comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated. The breakfasts are delicious, beautifully presented and a big selection to choose from. Well done Robin. We did a number of enjoyable walks from the Firecat Country House B&B, the scenery is spectacular.The B&B is situated in a beautiful valley, surrounded by farmland and natural beauty. The Firecat Country House B&B comes highly recommended.

Thank you Robin and Jane for a truly lovely stay. We had a warm welcome, a delightful room and absolutely wonderful food. A lovely celebration for my husband’s birthday and you even tolerated our ‘still learning his manners’ little dog! We thoroughly recommend The Firecat room and the fine dining experience, as our room was exceptionally clean, comfortable and well equipped and we have eaten in several Michelin starred restaurants and Robin’s food is more than a match. The fruit compote breakfast with honeycomb was also unique and quite delicious.
