El Remanso Rainforest Lodge

Simply outstanding. We have stayed in a huge number of lovely hotels and locations in the past, but El Remanso tops the list. The location is incredible. Staff are excellent: professional, friendly and clearly loving their jobs. Wildlife tours (all included in the price) were brilliant. Special shout-outs to Roy, Ronald and Edgar, who were all incredibly knowledgeable and went above and beyond to provide interesting, exciting tours. Our family room (Cruz Del Mar) was absolutely enormous and very comfortable. Food was fabulous and varied. Pool lovely and wildlife sightings excellent. Three nights wasn’t long enough!

A truly magical experience with exceptional service, amazing food, and breathtaking views. Everyone we met at the hotel was incredibly friendly and helpful. The guided tours were fantastic, and we absolutely loved the massages at their spa. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

We stayed here for 4 nights in March and could have stayed forever. I have never been anywhere as good as this. The staff can't be faulted - they quickly got to know and call us by our names and we left feeling like they were our friends. The food is out of this world - how the chef makes everything taste so delicious, I don't know! Happy hour cocktails are really good value. The location is amazing - so far from crowds and surrounded by wildlife. We saw scarlet macaws as well as monkeys directly from the terrace of our room! The guides were truly awesome and they will do their utmost to give you the best experience possible. Make sure you do as many of the included excursions as possible! We really didn't want to leave. We were made to feel so welcomed and we just loved every minute. It was the last stop of 4 on our 2 week trip to Costa Rica and we certainly saved the best till last!

Our way to the hotel after landing on the Osa Peninsula was a guided tour in itself. Our driver stopped at every animal which made our five year old daughter super excited. Arriving at the lodge we were greeted in the nicest way by Kevin and were taken to an AMAZING room. The hotel was very well organized, clean, very comfortable beds and extremely child friendly. The guided tours with either Ronald, Roy or Edgar were the highlight of every day. Seeing so much diverse wild life from monkeys, sloths, coati, ant eaters, tucans, snakes, scorpions, frogs and so much more in one spot was breath taking. The service and the food at the lodge were impeccable. Carol was a very attentive waitress who our daughter fell in love with immediately due to her kindness. We highly recommend staying at the El Remanso lodge if you are looking for wildlife, luxury and kindness all combined in one. Keep up the amazing work El Remanso lodge and thank you for making our stay so memorable.

We stayed at El Remanso for 5 days and had a great time. The staff here is amazing and so are the guides (birding and just wildlife in general). The room we stayed was very nice and had a great view. Guillermo, the manager, was always available and around making sure that we had everything we needed - pointing us to the best place to see various birds, etc The kitchen/restaurant staff were great with allergies and the food was good. Special shoutout to Tony who was our guide for the single day Corcovado trip - it was an amazing experience. The other guides we had (Eli, Edgar) were also good and made our experience memorable All in all, highly recommended

This place is one of the top places we have stayed in our travels around the world. Great choice of rooms. The food is fantastic - guides and staff very friendly and go the extra mile to make your experience. It is in such a great location with lots of choice of activities to do on site/off site. Lots of wildlife around - walks in the forest - go to the beach all with a few steps of walking from your room.
